My Dear Friends,

Greetings !

This is is my First Thread that is truely dedicated to all the users of E6/Ming ( especially the new users ) ; a tiny effort to acknowledge for wht all this Great Forum has given me. I shall be mainly focussing on Java and PKG Applications.

Thank You . All Of You. Especially those people who made great efforts to solve out our queries .. and the hard working developers who gave us the state-of-the-art Applications.


Honestly , Motorola Gave me just the machine but , it was you guys who made it a "magical box" for me. Thank You All.

Notes :

1. This Thread Has over Seven Categories of Applications . Most of the Applications have been tested by Me and i have indicated it wherever applicable.

2. I shall be Adding More Applications as I cant list all the applications at once. Please have a little patience I will soon Make this Post a complete reference for all E6/Ming Applications.

3. I am NOT the creator of any of these applications , Full Credit goes to the original Developers and Modders. I have tried my best to indicate the ' Name of the Developer+Thread or the Website ' so that u may contact the Developer via Website , PM or Thread if needed.

1. Friends , I am Not a Programming Expert but , Still even as a noob its really easy to have these applications up and running . So Relax.. Its really a childs Play to have ur phone a Monstor Phone !

• When You Get the Application you were looking for Try to Go through All The Pages of the corresponding Thread to see for any updates or know any issues associated with the Application. It really helps as u get to learn from others experiances.
  
• As a New user Dont try to install a NON Tested Application untill ur qutite sure of what u r doing.
  
• Always try to get the Most Recent version , do try to make a search the name of that application to see if there are any other updates regarding the Application.
  
• Always BackUp all Your Important Data especially the .system directory before you install the application ( This is Not very urgent for JAR File Installations but its a MUST for PKG installations )

A. JAVA Applications :::

Qs: How To Install Java Applications ?

Ans :

• Just Download the Required application ( You need to download the. Jar File only and Not the .Jad File ) to your Computer from the link provided below.
• Then Connect the E6/Ming to your PC in “Mass Storage” Mode and transfer the file to ur phone . You can also transfer the file via Blue Tooth.
• Note : If u downloaded the file directly to ur phone via phone browser ( thru EDGE/GPRS ) then you will be directly prompted to Install the File once the file is 100% downloaded.
• Then Disconnect your phone and go to the file you just transferred to ur phone and tap it via stylus , a popup will open and you can choose the location to install ( phone/card , I recommend , u to choose the card ) and the category ( eg Games , Extras etc ) .
• You will get a warning that its an untrusted application .. choose continue and u’ll successfully install the file.
• Go to the category u Installed say Games / Extras and u’ll see the icon of the application . Click to use it.

B. PKG Applications :::

Download : The Preinstalled MPKG,DosBox,LinLoader & ShowQ In One .system Folder Here

Note : I have come to knw that the .10P Firmwares DONT support PKG Installations due to Restrictions. You May need to Flash to a suitable Firmware to Install the PKGs. To Check Your Firmware Version Go to your Dial Pad and dial: WWW008W. To make the W you need to Insert WAIT.

Qs : How to Install PKG Files ?
Ans :
Its really very easy to Install These Files. The Best software for this the "Smart Assistant" that does all for u.

Brief STEPS :

1. Install MPKG by simply replacing the .system Folder ( on ur Memory card )[ Download Here ] . Now u can Install Any PKG File by Taping on the application and selecting "open with" to MPKG .
2. Then To make ur life even simple Download Smart Assistant
3. Install Smart Assisntant by MPKG Installer
4. Naw Install All other PKGs by Smart Assistant [ Download Here ]

Detailed Steps :

1. Connect Your Phone to the Computer in MassStorage Mode via USB cable.

2. First of all You need to Install the MPKG installer. This is simply done by replacing ur old .system file om Memory Card by the new .system file you get Here

2. If You have already Installed any Applications like JAVA/PKG Applications you will loose them.

• If u want to save The Already Installed Applications then do This :
  
  
• Once you download the MPKG Installer from Link Above You will get the .system folder.
  
  
• NOTE : In case You cannot see the the .system folder on ur MMC Card or In the folder you downloaded from links given above do this : Goto Tools>Folder Options>View and check the "Show Hidden Foles and Folders" . Click OK .
  
  
• Goto folder QtDownload Inside .system folder [ The folder you just downloaded ] . You will see four folders : mpkg , showq , loadr , busybox . Copy these folders [ Select using Mouse and Click Copy in Right Click ]
  
  
• Now Navigate to ur Phones memory card and Go To .system>QtDownloads and Paste all the four Folders copied Above in this Folder. What we are doing is simply adding the contents of the new ( downloaded ) QtDownloads Folder to our Memory Card's QtDowwnload Folder.
  
  
• Now Second step is to Goto the java folder inside the .system folder of the downloaded .system file. There you will find the file CardRegistry . Open This File in WORDPAD ( Dont Use NotePad ) Now simply copy all that u can see here.
  
  
• Then Go to .system/java/ and Open the CardRegistry file ( of Your MemoryCard ) in word Pad . Just Paste what u just copid at the end of this File.
• All Done ! Now Reboot and see the new 4 Icons Appear. IGNORE THE STEP 3 BELOW

3. Replace the .system file of ur memory card with the newly downloaded .system file. Done. Reboot and Check.

Note : You can Now Install any PKG File using MPKG u installed aboave. ( And can Skip the Steps below if u dont want Smart Assistant ) But I Strongly recommend you to use SmartAssistant.

4. Now Simply download the SmartAssistant and then navigate to this PKG file in File manager. [ Link above ]

Tap on it for a few seconds and once u get "open with" selct MPKG . The file will be Installed . Reboot and Check to se ur SmartAssistant Icon.

5. Now Next Time you install ANY other PKG File Install it with SmartAssistant rather MPKG Installer . [ To have this automatic just select the check box "always open it.." when installing a PKG file with SmartAssistant.

MOTOROLA ROKR E6/MING HACKS/TUTES/INFOs Collection :

WARNING : Please Note That I have Only Catalogued these Hacks and I am NOT responsible for any Results. Try at Your own Risk.

A. Mixed Collection :::

1. Author : Nimesh

• To mute the ring of active incoming call/msg/alarm/reminder, just press the volume keys.
• To see the screen in bright conditions like directly under sun, you can press and hold the green key to increase brightness.

2. Author : PuppetShow [ Original Thread ]

1. Change all 4 shortcuts (better way)
- Get /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_idle.cfg
- Look for "shortcut_N_freeze = 1"
- Change it to "shortcut_N_freeze = 0"
- Save, go to home screen setup and modify all four shortcuts

2. Change two hardware buttons (the browser+custom)
- Set to custom key (the right one) the program you want to have at the non-configurable key (the left one)
- Get /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_hardkey.cfg
- Copy value of "customizedKey" into "carrierKey"
- Save changes, go to customized key setup, set it to other program and save.
- Now both buttons are configured to your needs

3. Hack your FM Radio
- Get /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_fmradio.cfg
- Modify BandLimitHigh and BandLimitLow (to e.g. 550000/0)
- Save & test - now you can use very low and very high frequences.
- Modify MinFreqSeperation to change the frequency skip
- Modify TotalStations to change the max stations limit

The below steps work cool in .08 p. But in .09 p FW it doesn't display the information on the screen, instead I keep on receiving sms..!! How to solve it guys ?

just take ur e6 in hand:-
1)- Go to message menu and Tap on Options
2)-tap on service setup, then info service
3)-Put the service on by tapped the radiobutton in front on Service
4)-Then click on Active Channels
5)-Delete all previous channel
6)-Tap on options click new channel,,
7)-Enter new channel with value 50 and click on OK
just wait few seconds and u will get ur place wriiten at the bottom
