Phone Memory Full!!

1.) Hi ...when i try to install a new pkg .. my E6 gives an error "Phone memory Almost full" .. how can i free some space on it.. i have not installed any applications on phone memory.. the Memory status shows "System folder 7102KB and User Database 3500 kb"
Over all 91% Used....
I dont want to master reset..

2.) Also how can i start the call waiting service on my E6... i cant find a way to do that.. my service provider has that facility.. if anyone calls me when i am on another call it gives busy!

1) You should be installing apps on your memory card, that will solve that problem.

2) should be an option for call waiting to turn it on in the settings, My E6 is running Qtopia now, and I cant recall exactly where it was.

1] What MPKG Installer are you using? Does it give you the option to select Phone/Card?

2] You can enable Call waiting by the following Steps:

Goto Call Mode (Last Icon in GNB)
Select Options -> Setup -> Call Waiting.

Select on and press OK Button.

1.) I am not installing anything on my phone memory... everything is installed on memory card... neither are there any images or videos in phone memory..
Is there a way to view the contents of phone memory in detail and systematically select things to delete from it ... i can see "System folder 7102KB and User Database 3500 kb" but cant delete anything from it..

@thakkarnimesh: i am using smartassist or mpkg(which gives a beep on starting installation)
but i dont thing any app. is installed on phone memory becos whatever icons i can see in the phone ... all of them i can see in the .system(hidden) folder when i connect to computer..

2.) @thakkarnimesh: Sorry but i cant find the "Goto Call Mode (Last Icon in GNB)" .. is it in the Setup icon.. or is it in the Calls icon( but there i can see only 3 things ... answered calls missed and dialed calls... nothing like call mode ....) it might be a very simple thing but i just cant find it searched a lot...

answer to Q1:
a) did u happen install any new themes without erase old one recently
and check again MyAudio, MyVideo & etc in file manager.

b) in E6 memory status it will shown as follow - system, user database (3500KB),
mms, email data, file manager & browser ... max 11564KB.


answer to Q2:
a) first u needs to subscribe call waiting services from your network.

b) open E6 dial-pad, tap on the left bottom next to call button,
choose setup then tap on call waiting ... accessing network,
it will shown whether call waiting is activated.

1 ) @dellsonic : Ya i had the preinstalled E6 theme on which i installed the new iPhone theme...i did not uninstall the previous one...could that be the problem.. in that case how do i solve it..
and yes memory status shows System 7102KB and User Database 3500 kb , mms, email data, file manager & browser ... 10616KB(11564KB) 91%...

in future, do remember use skin Installer or Theme Installer to avoid problem of phone memory getting full.

u may try following steps,

1) easier way is to master reset the phone ...
Reset all default phone settings except for the lifetime timer.

2) backup first before master clear the phone ...
Caution: Master clear erases all information you have entered
(including address book and calendar entries) and content
you have downloaded (including photos and sounds) stored in
your phone’s memory. After you erase the information, you can’t recover it.
Clear all settings and entries you made except SIM card information,
erase downloaded pictures and sound files, and
reset all options except for the lifetime timer.

3) go into your phone memory system and try to delete
the iPhone theme under theme folder then restart the phone.
(... ezx_user/download/theme and ezxlocal/download/theme ... )
a bit complicated locating the folder and the risk for new user.

pls post the result.

1 )I did master clear ... it asked do you want to delete all the phone memory... i pressed yes... it said please wait... i waited for 1 hr 30 min but it was still please wait... so i removed battery n restarted .. no changes made to the phone ... nothing deleted what so ever... phone memory still 91% occupied..

2 ) I did master reset ... it asked do you want to reset to original factory settings... i pressed yes... it said please wait... i waited for 30 min but it was still please wait... so i removed battery n restarted .. result the same as for master clear..

3 )Didnt try the third option which you suggested as it was a bit risky...

So basically not sure what went wrong with the master reset and master clear... and phone memory still remains 91% full..

since u try master clear and master reset and not working, so u may try method no 3.
pls take note that, if u deleted the iphone theme it may hang the phone on bootup image.

If your phone BRICKED from install new theme. you have 2 options to do first telnet
to phone and execute command line to remove theme and change back to default theme
if you have a a CG43 or CG44 that have ability to telnet to brick phone
and second is flash it - extracted from Here.

download and unzip the my stuff and install my stuff.pkg (29kb size)
and tap on my stuff icon follow ...

go into your phone memory system and try to delete
the iPhone theme under theme folder then restart the phone.
