hey flasing is piece of a cake and it is a very low chance that u'll brik ur phone. use a good stable firmware and u're done. And i don know any sofware other than moby explorer but i don think it will be of much help.Gets ur guts and flash it..
Hello. I just bought new Motorola E6, but sadly, it came with firmware .54R. None of precious programs I wanted (gba emulator, telnetd, eKonsole) work. Not even mpkg installer, which I know how to use
Is there any way to play with these programs without flashing the phone? Maybe someone got the versions that work on this fw? Did anybody have a success in hacking this version?
I am just too afraid to brick my shiny new phone... I just can't kill it, so no flashing is for me
ouch - maybe there is java-based file manager, that could explore whole filesystem, not just the default path the standard file manager use? Or any other way to "get in" the phone, without flashing?

Okay, so I tried to flash the phone. When the windows detected new hardware, I selected path to MotPCSDrivers, but windows said that it can't find drivers. Why is that?
The error message on RSDLite (4.1) was "phone did not enumerate properly"
Oh - after removing/insterting battery, phone turned on with the old firmware...

Okay, I tried new version of motorola drivers and other USB port - now windows didn't even ask me to choose drivers, all worked. Now I have 09 original which works great
Only one con - I can't change two of the shortcuts. But well, I can live with it
Thanks for your answers. Now going to port some linux programs to motorola - already compiled microperl and lua, but still have to test them![]()
Hello. I'm thinking about flashing my e6. I have R533_g_11.10.54r too.
I have some questions:
Which risks are there when ich flash my phone?/Is it possible to destroy it and make it irreparable?
Can I backup the installed firmware or can I download and (re-)install the original firmware?
Flashing to which firmware works, when you have 54r installed?
Here's your answers:
1. Risks are nill as long as you follow all precautions mentioned in the flashing sticky. Most important: Correct drivers, no powerdown during flash.
Even if you screw it up, the E6 can always be recovered using RadioComm. These procedures are pretty complex and are best avoided.
2. There is no concept of a 'backup', but the 54r must be available somewhere.
3. You can flash to ANY firmware you like.
