sms keyboard help for newbie

I need help,I downloaded the files for the sms fingerpad but I don't know what my root folder is.so I can't open this app.could someone please help me?I tried to put them in my system folder,my java,my qt rebooted phone but nothing seems to work.any help would be great thanks

ok, you need 3 files

FP.so Main.so and startup1.txt

they are all in the thread (search the thread backwards for the latest files)

Put the 2 .so files in your phone memory in the 'My Programs' folder

Put the startup1.txt in the root of you memory card. (That means just on the card, not in any folder)

As long as you are using a firmware that supports startup scripts it should work just fine.

I guess my fw doesn't have start up scripts R533_G_11.12.08P is there a fw you recomend?thanks for the help

Ive been using ahmans 08p, and I like it. Workingmans .09p is also very nice, but if you use that one, you need to put the startup.txt in the autorun folder on the memory card, and I think it needs to be startup.txt and NOT startup1.txt. Pretty sure thats how I got it working with that FW.

I'm on 07p modded by DaGr8 and startup's work all rite.

Factory shipped 08s do not allow for startup, but if you dont want to change your firmware, Akshay here (aksd) has released a modification for 08p which will get it to run startups.

Just do a search for it and you should get the info.

thanks for the help guys I couldn't get it to work with my firmware probably didn't do something correct,so I flashed to 10p by sandman and it works great!
