Changing the BOOT IMAGE ---How to?

can someone help me change the bootimage of E6

I've tried the guide in a1200 modding section and my phone didnt start..........i've tried sbf codec tools and edited and replaced the cg39.smg file and flashed back and rsdlite said pass but my phone didnt restart...i even removed the battery for some time......its not working.................

What error do you get (if any)?
make sure the image you use has a small size. Mine is a 10 kb file, 240*320, name moto.gif and then follow the lines posted exactly in the a1200 section, with blank lines inserted where you have to press enter in ekonsole:

/mmc/mmca1/mtd/flash_unlock /dev/mtd11

/mmc/mmca1/mtd/flash_erase /dev/mtd11

dd if=/mmc/mmca1/moto.gif of=/dev/mtd11 bs=512 seek=4 conv=notrunc

/mmc/mmca1/mtd/flash_lock /dev/mtd11 0 -1

reboot

i've tried it the exact way u said before itself and i didnt get any error but after the reboot command...my E6 goes dead......im using AHBN .08P ........have u tried those steps personally and is it working for u can u test it............and can the image be a simple gif image or should it be a gif89a image ....the image i've used was about 8KB.....

As for gif89a images, im not quite sure how different they are from regular gifs. i just had a jpg file, opened it in photoshop and clicked save as->.gif..thats it
instead of reboot through the ekonsle, let the second-to-last command go thru where u lock the mtd11 again, and then exit ekonsole. then do a manual reboot

i have a doubt can u explain the last line in words is there a space between 0 and -1..suppsose it fails again is there any way to rollback without flashing the phone...coz im having ma ucollege final exams now and i cant spend too much time on ma phone .....flashing it again and restoring all the categories it takes a lot of time........lol ..ny way thank u very much 4 ur active response...........& waiting for your response.
