I tried editing ezx_boot.cfg and placing an echo "Booting up" to see if it shows up during boot time - nothing. Although I am not certain if this would even work - do you have anyother suggestions for me?

We'll maybe you could reflash. But personally I feel this is a problem with startup1.txt. Have you deleted startup1.txt and re written it?(I suppose you have). I doubt the ezx_boot.cfg file is corrupt unless you have opened and saved it with the built in text editor. If so then that is the problem. Re write it and save it in UNIX format. If nothing else works, a reflash should do it.

Flame Neon is right mate, it wont display Booting, you need to save it into the log file

Ok guys - I confirmed that ezx_boot.cfg is working by follwing neon advice. Apllied the same procedure to the startup1.txt file and did not get the log entry. So, you are correct, the problem seems to be the execution of the startup1.txt file.

I have now corrceted the situation by follwing both your advice and was able to get startup1.txt to execute a boot time, at least in the initial tests placing a log entry as suggestde by neon. Will now attempt to have it run my custmized start up sound wav

thx to both for your advise
