maybe your computer is the problem, not the phone.
I'm currently experiencing major problems with the usb mode on my phone. It worked just fine before, then all of the sudden I can't get it to work. When I connect my phone through the usb, I get the normal message on my phone stating some fuctions are disabled, but it keeps trying to connect to my computer over and over again. That message is still on my phone even after I pull out the usb cable.
I just tried to re-flash my phone (ver .08P) and I was able to get to the final step, but it was doing the same thing so it didn't completely re-flash (although my phone works). I also can't connect to my computer with bluetooth. Can anyone please help me out with this issue? Thanks.

I've tried it on 4 different computers, both mac & pc. I don't understand it because the phone was connected for 99% of the flashing proccess.
so u plug into computer, the phone should be in USB mode.
then it install drivers needed.. then check for a new storage drive in ur computer...
so it doesn't do that?
Yea it's in usb mass storage mode, drivers are installed. It worked fine up until a couple of days ago, then it just stopped working for some strange reason. I didn't change any setting or install anything new, it just stopped working. It connects for a 1/2 second then disconnects and keeps repeating this proccess over and over, my phone doesn't connect or even charge through a computer. I've tried a couple different usb cables as well. Any other ideas?
that is totally weird.
i had that problem on my brother's phone, and it turned out the cable was bad.
hmmm, I may buy a quality usb cable just to see (I've tried a couple of generic ones). I might as well troubleshoot by narrowing down all possible issues. Thanks for the info.
have you tried changing usb mode from mass storage to modem
Yea, i've tried that as well & still no luck.Originally Posted by wollybyte
