Hmmmm.... to enable Network Sharing, Goto Netowrk Connections in Windows, goto Properties, and the last tab in it. There will be an ICS option.... check it, and chose the name of your bluetooth / USBLAN connection there....
to khizerk:
Is your pc's OS windows xp?
then enable the SHARING OF INTERNET Connection.
that is very important, but i forgot to say.
if your pc's OS is linux, I don't know what to do......sorry.

@loppi: Yes am on XP. Actually I had enabled sharing of internet connection but somewhy ICS gets disabled everytime. Plus even with it enabled my current OS is not very kind to networking, I have to use colligo to even network with my laptop, maybe thats the problem. Anyway thanks for the response I will try agian.
And yeah one more thing, it doesn't matter where I put busybox right?...I am executing it from my memory card.
@cyberoidx: Thanks. Had it enabled but my firewall shuts ICS down sometimes![]()
ok tell me if u r able to ping outside addresses from ur phone..
like
ping 202.133.71.174
or some other outside addresses...
Nops, I can't. It should ping before enabling fake_dsm too right?
When I tried to ping my internet ip, it just froze and then after sometime said connection to host lost.
A question, when you said install a proxy server, ok I have installed a proxy server, but do I have to route my pc's internet through that proxy server too? (using something like proxy switcher) or just installation would do?
It might be just a case with my current OS too, as I said before it was causing problems (which had started after reinstallation). I will test on my laptop and post results of that too!
to khizerk:
It doesn't matter where you put busybox, it's just a file which provides some linux command.
And I haven't installed any proxy, don't know why you did this.
yes khizerk u should be able to ping other addresses right after setting gateway.. and also u have to configure proxy server so that all connections goes throug it.
and loppi this proxy server thing is needed because without it I was not able to open webpages on opera, though I was able to ping internet address prior to doing this...
I know it is possible to do it without using proxy that's why I asked for ur help to translate some of those chinese things to english...
some thing like "cmwap"
if u can throw some light on this to enlighten us all...
So you mean that I have to configure my connection so that it actually uses that newly installed proxy..I really dont know how to do that. Proxy switcher does route through a proxy but not all data. Hide IP does that, but selects its proxy by itself. :s
yes u have to configure it..
but before that make sure u r able to ping ur internet address u stated before(I mean before doing proxy stuff)
aargh, I am really pissed off
My desktop has some problem with networking. It allows me to gain access to networked computers but doesn't allow the opposite. I remember that before reinstallation I used to connect via a crossover straight to my laptop which had a "domain" set in its network. Now I can't!.
Tried on my laptop, somewhy if I try and enable ICS after telnetting, it generates a fatal error and restarts the computer. Anyway I tried another way by first enabling WLAN, then enabling ICS and then telenetting, not sure if it will still allow telenet network to share the internet or not but this was the best I could do without messing up the domain settings.
Anyway on the laptop there was some progress. I was able to ping my internet connection's ip. I tried running fake dsm right after telenetting and running opera mini but no luck.
Any body got ideas?. And yeah does anyone know how to actually ping a certain ip on a certain port in linux?. I tried ping 202.133.71.29:80 but the phone didn't quite accept the command.
