Working SCREEN3

I tried that and I still couldn't get it to work....then i power cycled and left it alone for a minute...success, it works...sorta, still gotta find a way to choose channels and actually get the banner links to work. Cingular has something called media net ticker or some crap that uses screen 3...so is that the key?

well thats what i was saying there might b a way to tell the program what site to go to for us to get the correct info via a firmware,mod,program or seem edit hell this sounds like a perfect job for Alpha yes that was a hint

There is a ezx_screen3.cfg file in /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup .
In this file links to the accessed sites are set.

Changing it there to a site where you have an account might work

Does anyone know a global news site that work with screen3? Those provider sites suck. They only want to earn money with downloads.

Maybe admin want's to make a motorolafans site for this

i honestly like where this is going, if we can get the info from a moto 557 or the L6 for the media net ticker maybee we can use that info for the screen3 to work on the e6.

I am on cingular and just tried the "other" method and it worked, now i will work on making channels.

only prob is one can telnet/samba in the phone but not modify its content , you could download it modify it and maybe find a way to mount it in the memorycard ... I know this doesnt work on standard e6 f/w but on the hybrid you can have workin startup text like in the A1200 ( since it hybrid )
so If you wanna try to get that file and mod it you could probably mount it if one is usin the hybrid f/w

I thought SCREEN3 was purely provider driven, and Cingular is the only provider? Anyway, I have T-Mobile and cannot get SCREEN3 to work.

The reason that cingular has a type of 'exclusivity' on this is that they have a 'media ticker' that is like a RSS feed. The Screen3 is a RSS tech too. So by doing some tweaking, S3 can work on this phone. I really wish that my provider had a ticker or RSS type feed that i could sign up for. S3 is hott!
