Loops can you answer these questions:
    1. The format of the pictures in the directory you are choosing
    2. The name of the directory you are choosing
    3. The number of pictures in that directory.

Also, access .system/QTDownload/pictureflow/ and copy cfg.txt
Attach it here so that I can have a look.

    ksrao_iete:
What other bugs are you encountering?. I know people are complaining about the phone halting in some occasions, but that is because of memory restrictions and I dont think there's a way to improve that. It can only display a certain amount of pictures. Enabling swap file does improve it.

could you explain the detailed journey of development of these app ?

@Loops: You are selecting the directory in correctly. Go in setup, click on "...", scroll and highlight Images (dont enter it), and click on "Set Directory". You should see a message box say "Directory set to Images".

Currently you seem to be entering Images and then clicking on Set Directory.

I'm not on my PC now, else I would have sent you the correctly cfg.txt (you just need to remove / after Images in the first line and save it in UNIX file format)

@Sagittarius: To develop a basic application, you need little knowledge of C++ (just knowledge regarding if, case, loop structures, classes and headers would suffice) and some knowledge about Qt 2.3 libraries.

For C++, I learnt most of the stuff just by looking at the code (reading books doesn't help me much because of the gaps I take :P). For Qt, the documentation on their site and on their Qt-interest mailing list is pretty good.

These things will allow you to develop graphic based applications (like pictureflow). For more advanced applications using sound etc (like xmms) you need to know C and linux's own APIs too...(which I am not adept with either hehe).

You should start up by setting up your development environment (installing SDK and stuff) and take a look at source codes of basic applications for our phones.
