INFO: Saving SMS on memory card

If you mount bind anything from your memory card you cant use it in mass storage mode, including fonts and Swap.

But if you unmount the font/main.db or unmount the swap then the memory card becomes usable again

How biggest your main.db is?
how many SMS and contacts in do you have in phone memory?

and does phone can mount--bind into 2nd or 3rd partition that does not be FAT? I think phone cannot change non-FAT partition into USB Storage so if we mount bind into 2nd non-FAT partition It may avoid phone hanging. but I don't test it. it's only idea.

I syncronize with PC my contacts with outlook expres and when i restarted my phone no sms mesages no contacts and no calendar entries. When i click on any of that it shows a window with message Waiting for DataBase

cant use messages nor phone book nor email PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP

Did you store your meesages on your memory card? Please be more clear in defining your problem so we can help you.

Unfortunatly phone is changing all partitions (eaven if they'r not FAT) into USB Mass Storage. I have two partitions on my MING (1st is FAT and the 2nd is EXT2) and they are all showed under my KUbuntu Linux Desktop.
Windows cannot recognize non-FAT non-NTFS partitions, thatswhy theyr not showed under windows-explorer.

I need you help... main.db file is just 1.5 mb. but after my sms's reach to 2500 count.. it prompts me "phone memory full, please delete contact, calender item,sms & mms"

dont take it exactly word by word..

i tried to solve it by mounting /ezx_usr/sysDatabase/main.db /mmc/mmca1/mount/main.db

but no luck... got Eakrin's modded firmware..

have created the startup.txt script containing mount --bind /mmc/mmca1/fone/main.db /ezx_usr/sysDatabase/main.db . changed startup.txt permissing to 777. tried resettingg & then running the script.. in ekonsole.. it shows mounted..

but i noticed one thing.. in fone main.db is just 1.5 mb.. but when i copied it to mmca1.. its 3.4 mb there... dont what's wrong.. any size limitation for main.db??


sms's are really priceless for me.

(GUYS, i'm UNIX System Admin by profession... plz let me know how can i do that...i mean unlimited sms capacity.. i dont want any prompts...)

I did'nt understand this procedure.. I am new to this section I got a Motorockr E6 few months back & I know to install themes, 1 of my friend too got a motorockr but 2 days back when she changed the theme suddenly her phone got swithed off & was not getting on.. she had to go to the motorola shop & to reload the software, all her messages are gone.. & I want to know whether can we save our messages from our phone to pc?? & is there any way to keep the messages on memory card.. please help me please
