The original opie.cramfs method described in leprechaun's page does require linux to re-partition the SD card, bu the package that cyph has provided at http://www.www.motorolafans.com/inde...ewtopic&t=1148 should be loadable w/ windows (it puts the cramfs file on the SD card so no partitioning is necessary).

    Hi Nicky n Frnds,

    @ Ravindran
I wonder how about your phone? r u complete install OPIE? Can you share your experiments when install OPIE?
Happy to know that u r still intrstd....this keeps me going...

After that failure...i tried other things... used all type of skins including the win xp and garuda..everything was fine until the garuda theme..the i got the memory full errors.. i uninstalled the themes without shutting down the phone...Strangely, after that I installed the winxp skin as got back the Memory full erors (earlier i didnt get for win xp theme) ..After uninstallng my phone is fine now.

I am also successfull in getting ppp enabled thru Bluetooth running on Linux (mandarke 10.1) . So far no luck woth xp tho. Whenever i try my modem settings get upset and i am not able to connect to internet.

I tght aftr enablig the wireless i can work without the cable. But , I m now facing issues with NFS on linux. Everything gets mounted. But when i try to access any file the phone Hangs. Something related to permissions...Will check it later.

Coming back to the OPIE...today I will do something and hope to see the magical screen...Will keep you all posted..

    Regards,
    Ravi

Same to you, I got it. But I can't see any interesting in OPIE: no apps, no sound, can't do something like in the phone. I wonder any thing else in OPIE which I don't know?

    Hi Nicky,

The sound works for me ..tho the mp3 plays with some strange..3d effect (.. i suspect something wrong with the codec ..this leads to one more question...How do we update codec od opie player/builtin media player)..Other sounds work fine..(the Click sounds etc.).

Many apps are working including Vnc,explorer, screen capture, console.. Opie player (I was also able to play huge videos..with some freezin g up though..understand its it due to the proxy display). Cyph has really done a good job. I'm yet to figure out how to compile my own version.

Also, i was able to enable ppp over bluetooth. So.. I'm wireless now upto around 60 m...though the dongle supports 100m !!!!Only on Linux though...Still no luck on NFS..some permissions problem...

Also. I'm having strange problems..cant change the ring tone mode..says memory full...after the opie.. still trying to figure..I'm positive and hope that its not serious....

Yeterday.. I staryted OPIE and my phone froze.. I tght it will be back in few mis and forgot.. after some 2 hrs... the phone was really hot and frozen ..Removed the battery and put it back.. Now it says Faulty SIM.. I tried and removed the SIm card various time..rebooted...No luck!..

Checked the SIM on Nokia 3220.. I get some kind of message "Phone Authorization "..undo? when i try i 'm asked for a UNDO code...tried 0000, 1234, all PINs.. Didnt work..

When i checked on SIM on Nokia 2300..Its says "Error 6". Bad SIM

Now..I;m not sure whether it is due to OPIE..but it definitely started after the OPIE.. Im scared of putting another SIm in the phone coz it might screwup the other one too...

    Any ideas??? Please help.....

Only 1 thght is running in my mind.. to get a new SIM
