One question before I take the plunge. If I decide to uninstall this package will the space be recovered on the card? Or will I have to reformat to recover space?
If you use the Xsdl version it'll be recovered, or at least can be, if you use the repart version, you'd have to repart again to recover the space used.
Apparently not! I installed the xsdl version which didn't work and after uninstalling it the phone did not recover 180MB. Had to repartition. Just though you guys should take that into consideration before trying it.

You just had to switch to mass storage and in the .system dir find the 180MB file and remove it. You didnt' have to reformat it, and since it didn't work tha tis likely why it didn't remove either.

The thing however is that I searched through the system file and found no such file. The phone did not indicate that an additional 180MB had been used. It simply said that the capacity was 180MB less. I switched to linux to see if there was a partition not detected but this was not the case.

    Hello.

I am using a a780 (R52_G_0D.74.A2R) and have the same poblem someone described some posts earlier.

If i execute the mkezx icon on my phone, nothing happens and the phone freezes. I have to remove the battery. The same problem appears if I execute /diska/.system/QTDownLoad/mkezx/mkezx-boot.sh
There is no output, the phone and the telnet session are just freezing.

    What could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello again.

I played around a while and now I think my problem is following
su: This applet requires root privileges!
This is caused by following line from mkezx-boot.sh
    start-stop-daemon -c root --exec $CURPATH/mkezx --start -- run su ezx -c 'exec startx &'
At the moment I can do following to get the gpe desktop running
    Code:
    /ezxlocal/mkezx login
    Code:
    startx
The problem is, I cannot use any application because of the error
Cannot create ~.gpe: No such file or directory
Maybe someone can give me a hint how to solve the probleme.

    Thanks in advance.
