    ok guys.. here we go.

From all the previous fixes all that I learnt is that, we are trying to intercept the modem device, which is already in use by some or the other application. Thats the reason why everytime something or the other was failing. And now the major issue i've is that, I dont have a GPRS connection, so I cannot realy test if a new fix might work for you or not. So decided this route:

I am attaching a new gerald_vibe.bin, which will read the actual modem device file to use from a file named "device_file" present in the local folder as gerald_vibe.bin. So far, what I've infered is that,

/dev/mux0 - used while incoming calls
/dev/mux1 - used while sending SMS
/dev/mux2 - used while receiving SMS
    /dev/mux5 - used in GPRS

I dont know about mux3, mux4, mux6, mux7. From my earlier research on the issue, the tapisrv seems to be opening all the 8 devices (mux0 to mux7), so i guess that these devices are used for one or the other. The devices from mux8 to mux15 do exist, but do not seem to be notified about the events.

Now all that I need you people to try out is that, change the "device_file" file to contain various device files (one device at a time), and check which one suites you the best. you might pbly end up with a device in which everything might just work. If someone can find that device, then i can change gerald_vibe.bin to use that device statically. If not, I guess, /dev/mux1 is the best alternate, wherein , we can disable gerald_vibe only while sending SMS, which is predictable. I guess we might find a device related to fax calls?

thanx guys! we will somehow make it happen

I hope we could use the phone as normal while gerald_vibe.bin is running...
I'll try all /dev/mux* later, then I'll post some feedback .

I've been testing dev/mux3,4,6 and 7 without sucess, not possible to send SMS so at the end I tested dev/mux1 and, as you say it's the less worst.
With this device it's possible to receive SMS and use GPRS, if I want to send SMS, witch is as you say predictable, I just have to dissable script.
If nobody says nothing more, it's good for me as far as I don't use so often SMS's.

The same for me, I didn't find a device with all connections working properly, I think we'll have to use /dev/mux1... Well, it's not so terrible, we only have to run a script before sending sms :P. Thanks for all your work Gerald!

We can finalize with mux1, unfortunately there's no mux device that could be used without missing sms, stopping gprs, etc.

Looking forward for your next software release , what is it about?
