The Hindi Language Localization Project

Following this thread (http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/e...anguge-e6.html), I have made the Hindi keyboard for the E6, and am working on a Hindi translation for the phone. I will post more information on how to contribute or lead the project later.

For now (28-07-09), the Hindi keyboard is done, except for a few characters that refuse to be shown on the PC. It is therefore still a work in progress.
To get the keyboard working properly, you need 3 things:
1. The keyboard mapping
2. The keyboard image
3. An appropriate font

Download the file attached and extract the contents to the root of the memory card. Install the theme called Hindi. After this, look out for the file called Hindi.ttf; install this using either the ApplyFont application or autorun folder. Once these 2 are done, open up eKonsole and type the following:

mount --bind /mmc/mmca1/english_cn.kbd /usr/language/inputmethods/english_cn.kbd

If this is successful, go to your SMS menu and select Compose message. The keyboards changed are the Capital keyboard and the shift button in the Capital keyboard.

For testing purposes. Language options has Hindi. Some menus have Hindi in them, for eg. Notes.
Extract the archive called string.zip.
Copy the folder to the root of the memory card.
Open eKonsole, and type the following code:

mount --bind /mmc/mmca1/string /usr/language/string

LOL..why don't YOU try it?
I want the members to confirm if its working or whether there are any problems.
For eg., this will not work with people who do not have the chinese language pack as they keyboard id is different.
