great idea and great work!! thanks!!!
Hi!
JFYI: I've started the OpenEZX project, which as it's final goal wants to have a 100% free linux distribution for the EZX smartphones.
I'm already working quite heavily on getting a 2.6.14-rc4 kernel including all phone-specific hardware drivers. I expect some news on this during the next week.
There's also a OpenEZX Wiki, which I hope will become a valuable resource for all information related to hardware and software of the EZX phones.
For those of you, who (like me) prefer mailinglists for technical discussions, there's the openezx-devel mailinglist.
Please don't misunderstand me, I don't want to create any kind of 'competition betwee the various EZX related sources on the net. I found a lot of valuable information in the forums here, but it takes ages to read through all the noise in the various threads. My goal is to bundle the information (and code) somewhere, and thus make it easier for further developers to get into it.
If you need anything (like mailinglists, subversion accounts, ...) for EZX related projects, just let me know.
I'm looking forward to your contributions :)
great idea and great work!! thanks!!!
That's great!
We need it!
Great work setting up the site! Reading through the mailing list archive (great work on the 2.6.14-rc4 kernel btw, cant wait to have a stable, up-to-date 2.6.14 kernel running on the phone!), i also noticed someone asked some seriously noobish question in the development mailing list. I think you should make it clear that newbies should come here for newbie questions, so that the development mailing lists dont get "polluted". Also great idea about setting up an A780 ssh server. I can imagine OpenEzx getting slashdotted with that, which would give some more much-needed attention.
Ps: Openezx was featured on linuxdevices, yesterday![]()
Yes, but does it run Linux?
