Unfortunately, i could NOT install it on my A1200, even following each step.
Maybe you have E6 phone that uses a previous version of montanvista linux.

hmm....i can post what i did...
copied the unzip file and the compressed archive to the phone...ran ekonsole and ran the commands to unzip the file...installed the .pkg file....placed the updated ui file in the folder....using rockbox happily

Am I suppose to have a .rockbox folder in the archos folder? I don't seem to have it. Also when I play a song, I'm getting a message saying I don't have that folder and that I don't have the codecs. I'm sure I installed it right though.

EDIT: Ok, nvm, I redownloaded the zip file and it has it now. Weird.

EDIT2: I don't understand why you guys use eKonsole to extract the files on the phone.

All I did to get it to work was:
1. Extract it on the computer
2. Overwrite files with the updates
3. Extract system folder out from qt-2.3.10-a1200.zip
4. Load Rockbox and System folder onto the phone

No need to use eKonsole

well u can call it herd mentality or whatever cause we followed what the developer told us in the first post...i tried he exraction on the pc and it din work for me...mebbe it was just the files that needed to be updated but that unzip on the phone looks pretty neat

Ok .. here is what i have done ... i have added the new ui file to the archive and i am attaching that and the unzip file to my post ... you need ekonsole to do this.
1) Download the unzip file and the rockbox_bleeding_20070909_117 file that i have uploaded.
2) Copy these files to your memory card using your PC.
3) Disconnect your phone and open ekonsole.
4) enter the following commands:-
cd /mmc/mmca1
./unzip rockbox_bleeding_20070909_117.zip
./unzip rockbox/qt-2.3.10-a1200.zip
after you run these commands close ekonsole and open your file manager you will see two new folders rockbox and system
Open rockbox and install the rockbox-rokr_e6.pkg. Once done run rockbox.
I think it will go to fm screen first just click on the green button on your phone and you will see the main menu then use your left and right arrow keeys to navigate and take it up from there. You need go to settings to increase your volume and as well as your background.

Please tell me if you went wrong somewhere or anything else i will help you as much as i know.

it very easy to install rockbox on E6 :
step 1: Download rockbox_bleeding_20070909_117.zip (in page 1) (6.14 MB)
step 2: ok, in your PC, unzip rockbox_bleeding_20070909_117.zip ---> you get rockbox folder , get qt-2.3.10-a1200.zip and ..... etc in rockbox folder.
step 3 : you unzip qt-2.3.10-a1200.zip -->get system folder.
step 4 : copy rockbox folder and system folder to root on your SD card (mmc/mmc1) (system folder will not in rockbox folder, it will on the root as rockbox folder)
step 5 : install rockbox-rokr_e6.pkg (on rockbox folder) --> and now, you can use Rockbox ^ ^
step 6 : play your musics ^ ^

now i have a problem with Rockbox :
- i can not play any music files on my E6, Rockbox said the error about the codes. how to play music ?
- i can not change the theme, or skin ..... how do this ?
- how to exit Rockbox ? i use Camere button --> E6 can't do anything, and i remove the battery to exit and restart E6
