Thread: Next generation RAZR

  1. #1

    Default Next generation RAZR

The original RAZR was a huge success, but lacked quite a lot of features. Motorola adopted the styling of this phone on many of their phones which is one reason why their phones aren't doing so well. But let's take a look at my concept phone aka my dream phone. I would want this phone to come out in 2009 and possibly 2010. Here's a bad drawing(I'm not an artist) of a prototype Razr 3 V12

The phone would have a similar camera the ZN5 have had, but digital with 6.3 MP and more improved zooms. It would have 3.5G HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE, Wifi, 7.2Mbps([if possible, the web browisng speed]Dowload speed).
    -A. GPS with turn-by-turn navigation
-That little ball-thing(don't know what its called) that Blackberry phones have
-Dual screen inside. Instead of a traditional keypad, the keypad would be touch screen which can transform into a QWERTY keyboard for easier texting. And would also transform into a gamepad.
    -2.6" 16.7m(maybe even higher) color VGA internal screen. And a 2.2" 262k external touchscreen-QVGA-
-Much Improved Music and Video player with 45 FPS
-Built in NVIDIA chip that'll support both 3D and Video graphics
-More improved web browser with possibly flash built in.
    -Smartphone
-8 GB of internal memory and 32 GB of expandable memory
-An arcade system similar to the one on the Xbox 360 which allows you to download Arcade games both in 2D and 3D.
-Video Calling with the See-what-I see feature
    -CrystalClear Talk
-Vibrates when you touch a button on the touch screens.
    -Linux
    -FM Radio
-Supports most media files including MP4, avi, real, MPEG, etc.
-6 Hours of Talk on 3G
    -and more

    The dimensions are
    105 x 54 x 13mm

What do you guys think? I know the drawing isn't that good. I wish I could find some good 3D designer to make the image the way I see it in my mind. Anyways, if Motorola were to release this, this would be a renaissance for clamshell phones. And the the Dual screen inside would be a first.

    @kunal007: Thanks

I've updated the picture and here's something how I want the RAZR 3 to look like. I borrowed some skins from MotoX. However, this isn't how I want the UI to be like. I wanted to be more innovative, more cooler, and more advance looking. Plus, I want the phone to have a 15 icon menu.

Experience the Razr 3. Twice as fast downloading speed, super high speed internet(3G HSPDA at speeds reaching 7.2 Mbps, and Wifi) with a full-html browser with flash built in! Comes with a 6.3 MP Kodak Digital camera with Xenon flash for taking pictures, videos, and video calling. With a crisp, beautiful, 2.7" VGA internal screen with 16.7 million colors including a built in NVIDIA chip that'll support both 3D and Video graphics for higher quality graphics in all areas including Games.

Unlike any flip phone, the Razr 3 comes with Dual Screens inside. The second internal screen can be used as a number keypad, or a QWERTY keypad for texting, web browsing, or IM. The external screen, which is a 2.2" QVGA touch screen with 262k colors, can make calls(in speaker mode), read messages and reply(with quick notes), play music and videos, view pictures, and much more.

And unlike most cellphones that can play games, the Razr 3 plays them at much higher quality. Comes pack with an arcade system similar to the Xbox 360s. Games come from classic arcade hits like Street Fighter to 3D games. And unlike many phones that are capable of playing great games such ass the iPhone 3G, the phone can turn into a portable gaming device thanks to the inner touch screen. So playing games on a mobile will be like playing games on a GameBoy.

The Razr 3 isn't just a plain phone with great gaming features, it's also a Smart-multimedia phone. You can insert any kind of normal headphones(i.e. iPod headphones) without an adapter this time. With the latest Windows Media player, you can play most media files. You can take high quality pictures or videos and EDIT them tools similar to MS Paint and WMM. The Razrs before can only have the volume at max at 7. But this phone is louder and can go up to 14. And Unlike the Razrs before it, there's folders.

if i use my moto as a pda it's ok or even better its looks like a pda

i like the real keys of the E770.
    i suggest also:
    - analog stick (better pointer for improved graphical usage)
    - real touch-screen
    - >=128MB RAM for bigger apps
    - mulit-core arm-cpu?
    - plugable iNAND (up to 64GB)
    - hot-swap-iNAND (up to 64GB)
    - USB-Host-Controler
    - IR to use it as RC for TV and more
    - additional keys on thin small side

its ok if the razr is small in my pocket - but in hands it have to be bigger! i suggest motorola to check out a longer version of razr: take a razr 2 - stretch it and change QVGA (4:3) with "QWGA" (16:10)

the additional space for keys will also be welcome.

@shoib: can you make a draw of razr with QWGA? the key-pad will be fit to the keys you want to place on it
