We can create or add playlist item from songs page. Still have possibilty to add playlist item from file/folder. Skinable UI visible when start playing and back to playlist page if something goes wrong or by user because need to change something.
4. May be we can use ozxplayer free-form skinable UI and make a new skin look like SE player but why?

3 and 4- I really liked the multipage idea. Go ahead with it, esp. if it speeds up the implementation. The SE-styled UI is a strong with but NOT a showstopper

About 2 hours hacking on xmms-kde and now I can manipulate xmms-embedded playlist from xmms-db. Slow recursive scanning on /mmc/mmca1/MyAudio (about a second/file) but fast enough when browsing database content (artist, album, genre, year). Support mp3 and ogg file only for now and still look bad...!

The quick implement is using this application as playlist manager add-on for xmms-embedded. Not merge it to eXMMS but work together control xmms-embedded playlist. No need to write a new UI but add sync methode only on eXMMS.

Now, I am working on rockbox - directory, playlist, and database based music player! Have some cool stuff, like equalizer, fade in/out, dithering, playback resume (not only the song but the position too), unicode support, games, nice clock, stopwatch, image viewer, themed, etc... Support *.mp3, ogg, wma, wav and not tested yet for *.ac3, ape, mp4, mpc, spc support.
