Hello!!!
My lovely application would be one wich explores the native db and checks contacts for birthdays. If current date matches with one birthday, it will show a simple msgbox.
It is easy to do? It is possible to do under windows XP platform?
Thanks to all.

put the birthdays in the calender, with 'repeat once a year' mode. On the birthday, you will get notification on your home screen. My calender had repeats for rent, bills, etc on once a month, birthdays on once a year, etc.
You can make your calender, to do list, and contacts in Outlook / thunderbird / SeaMonkey and synchronize it to your phone through MPT. That is the intended functionality of a PDA.
i dont get notification on my homescreen even though i have birthdays with once a year repeat on. did you put alarm on perhaps?
do you have the calender scheduler thingie setup to your home screen?
if you mean i have 'next events' displayed on my home screen, yes i do. it showed my appointments when i made them with alarm but not birthdays (i never set alarms for birthdays). could that be the reason the birthdays don't show up and replaced with 'no meetings' instead?Originally Posted by zbangash
Probably. try one with alarm. make a dummy one and see if it comes up. I'd probably be pulling out my E680i from the box again soon too. will confirm how I made it work. (yes, my phone has been sitting in a box for the last few weeks).Originally Posted by azn_damien

bitrthday alarms are 24 hours before by default, so it goes off about midnight of the previous day. Then in the home screen, it gets superceded by the next events. Plus whole day events do not seem to stay in the home screen
