Phonetools is not really a flashing tool... In fact, i worked a little on a release ( as a re-packer, etc...), and i never tried flashing with it myself!!! I only used it for development, i would say it is not really trustable for flashing... ( now muromec is testing a new tool : putusb , maybe i will be safer, and at the end, modders will decide to release our fw using these programs, wich would be very cool for multiples reasons)
Btw, it is a detail, but "installing" is too vague, we can _install_ apps, but when it is an OS replacement, I understand what you said, but, as every solution to boot android do not necesitate to erase the flash (i mean by "flashing" it ), it is more a "dual boot" a "flashing" a "boot on sd", 3boot menu", etc... well if possible, precise the way you prefer to run each OS on your device. ( these stuffs are just a bunch of files, with attributes sometimes, and/with a kernel... we also speak about "rootfs")
Almost everything works quite good on openezx for now (as long as you only need a really simple GUI, or no GUI at all ) on all ezx devices, except they change android each weeks, and no-one really tried to port that OS...

In fact I don't want flash to Android also for this motivation (only RSD Lite works very well but only for sbf firmwares), if I want to flash to a f/w different from EZX, I prefer to flash to QTopia.
p.s.: is there any updates on the releases of qtopia?

    Thanks

Well, things are moving, gently brick begin to take their place in the OS, but also, i am more and more motivated by having a flashing tool from only open software because really i am tired by rsd lite automation (there are no option at all, and it is hard to choose the good fw, because you will depend on it when the flash start), it let you brick your phone even if you don't want to flash signed CG's, without a testpoint, it is as simple as don't overwrite BP stuff if the phone works well for you... identify your already present fw, so you know what you are doing... ( and rsd protocol is "emulated" or implemented in several flashing tools now in c, c++, python, and some are much more reliable than moto tool, i would say ).
