this "start init" message is from android, not from the kernel.
So its freezing somewhere when starting android.

Hi,
hang at "start init"? That'd mean the init program can load, probably your kernel don't suit the android needs...
But if it's "cannot find init", or "specify a good init= command", then it's maybe only your kernel that search the rootfs in a place it can't find it.
What version of android are you trying to load?
The recent openezx kernel (from git) have already a lot of code code from android, like all 2.6.29 kernels
(But i've heard that for a proper boot you may have to patch only the ashmem stuff)
Maybe you try the androidezx rootfs, but i have to say, it will not even have a keyboard on screen, to use it...
I suggest you to build a cupcake or the last android from sources.

No, but i just suggested you to rebuild a a rootfs to enjoy it's capabiities, and also, i supposed it would run better with a more recent kernel than 2.6.25.
ok I will go to try
and wyrm, openezx already has one kernel that he has supported this rootfs?
the rootfs is ext2 and its standard. But our kernel (and the mainline linux kernel) doesnt support the weird IPC that android implements. So you will need to patch the kernel with some android patches.
