Thread: S9 vs HT820 which is better?

Hey the S9 I got with my ROKR premium is the black one. Its really good and good looking too.
    Pros:
Very flexible, the MIC is crystal clear (I asked the calling party to tell me how's the clarity, and they couldn't tell I was using a hands free instead of the phone!). Also the sound volume is amazing, you can get up to 3 times louder sound compared to the wired headset. The buttons provided for call, play/pause, forward/rewind and volume control are also good. Also, there are no batteries, you use the charger for charging it.
    Cons:
You have to recharge frequently. Also, cant be sued while lying down on a couch etc...., since the headset fits behind your head.

    Cost:
It should not cost more than 3K even at an authorized Moto dealer.

My comments on S9 VS. HT820:

HT820 is more adaptable to motion, meaning you don't lose connection when moving, unlike in S9 that when either the phone or the headset moves, you lose connection.

S9 is more friendly to the ear, unlike HT820 wherein my ears tend to get hurt after using it for some time...

I like the sound quality more in S9, probably due to the fact that you can use the "mushroom" earpiece, it blocks most external sounds and so bass is heard more clearly...

On a call, I like HT820 better because I can hear the other person on both ears unlike in S9 where you can only hear the other caller on one ear...

Lastly, regarding the music buttons, I like S9 more than HT820 because the buttons there are not "movable", unlike on the FF/Rewind and volume +/- on HT820, it's suceptible to damage... belive me, the reason I bought S9 is due to the fact that the volume up key on my HT820 broke in a couple months and I was unable to get it repaired...

    Hope this helps!

How loud are the S9's? I only compared the HT820 to my X5 and i felt that the X5's were not only alot louder but had a better overall balance in sound quality.

Well, I can only tell that S9 is waayyy louder than HT820... That is when I use the "mushroom" earpiece... Maybe due to the fact that the earpiece of HT820 does not fit well on my ears... Ü Although I have to admit, the bass sound on HT820 is more pronounced than on S9 particularly on songs that has a lot of drums in it, but I'd still go with S9 than HT820... And in regards to sound quality balance, I think I'll go with HT820, though it's been a while since I used HT820... I'll give more details on the signal quality once I get my SE phone next week, or next-next week... Then I can tell if it's really the headset or the signal quality that makes those "hiccups"...

does the S9 have a line in jack like the HT 820 . does the S9 have any flashy lights?

coz HT 820 has blue lights flashing on both sides...

i think the only major disadvantage 820 has is size...
also i got it really cheap for 2200 only and this was like 4 months back

put a foam (from orig headset) at the mushroom rubber and your s9 will be the best headset ever.. very nice sound coz the sound will trap inside with the help of the foam and it is more comortable
