Default A910 for TMobile in US not connecting UMA

    Hello everyone,
I am a new user to this site. I have A910 which has following versions and I am able to call Tmobile. It also has Orange colored Orange logo at the front bottom.

I can not connect it to Tmobile UMA. I have used other nokia phones with UMA since last 1 year and tried different setting options but it does not connect to Tmobile UMA and I can not get any help from tmobile for it.

    AP S/W Version :
    R57_G-10.07.06R
    BP Flex Version GSZA910TMOBILE041
    BP S/W Version :
    R57_G_10.07.06R
    DSP S/W Version :
    63343400

    Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, first of all, please don't flash it yet!!!

For you, first, because i think you have the unique "IPsec" keys in the firmware, that allow you to connect to Tmobile network.
Second, because i think a lot of person, (maybe able to help you...), would want to have some parts of your firmware... and the keys are damn hard to "generate" ,.
I don't know what's is your actual problem, but:
    Let's check:
Backup the "a" folder, and possibly all the flex keys, from your phone, using p2kcommander .
I'll help you to do this, it's easy, with the version of p2kcommander from this site, you put the phone in usb modem mode, then select "p2k only" mode on p2kcommander.
I will do the same parralelly, to drive you much better, if you can't manage to connect to p2kcommander.

I think it's maybe the firmware (orange parts are not a good sign...) But it's easy to check too... I'd need the "ezx_ipsec.cfg" file to compare to mine. (i have BT, orange, and "neuf" 's fw here...)

i hesitate telling you where you can find ezx_ipsec.cfg ...
    Maybe try that folder:
    /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup/
(Or perhaps also try ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup ...)

I need to re-install everything on my a910 since i changed of sd card...
I wil install ezxterm, then ssh. (tel me if you need help for any...)

It could be perhaps interesting if you could send me ( frederi1 [at grrr no ] gmail {dot- spam. af} com ) the full copy of /usr/setup/ipsec/policy/ folder. We search a tool there, to generate a key... hum i'm not the main researcher, i'll try to contact the most interested person I know on that (at least he was interested a few months before ).

    Hi Sabrod,

Thanks for the feedback. Here are my points:

--> I could not find the p2kcommander on this website. You can direct me to the right place or I can use any other version off the web. I saw this one:
P2kCommander download for Java - Softpedia

--> The USB cable I have is USB to MiniUSB, which came with a Canon camera. Would that work ? I tried to connect my A910 and it did recognize it as a modem on Vista Ultimate x64. Do I need any other drivers for a910 ?

The problem I have is, my a910 does not connect to the wifi ( for tmobile hotspot@home ). I have used Nokia 6086 since a year. I tried with no wifi securty too. I thought it could be because of some security issue with different encryption methods.

Hey, i think i use the p2kcommander 5.06 from here, i will be at home in 2 days, so i will re-upload it.
i dunno what's wrong, but i can't find anything using "search"

You could try another one, but mine worked very well like this:
Go to option (phone in modem mode)
    P2k/P2k05
    Standart P2k commands (e398...)

For the cable a standart one should work, but i don't know if the cable of Canon camera is standart.

And for the drivers, yes, i suppose this need a driver from motorola. I picked that one from motodev, they are generally up-to-date...
(remove the ".zip" in the filename, it's an msi, but for uploading, i needed to rename the extension).

    Hi ckari11, hi Fred,

though I am less into A910 firmwares now, I would really like to get some details. The Orange logo - "hardware branding" - at the bottom can´t be the reason that its not working, btw - just depends on the firmware which might not be perfect due to the fact that afaik the A910 never made it to T-Mobile USA (can anyone confirm this?), though there were rumors it would.

It would be nice to have the firmware, btw.

I will just quote my own explanations on firmware extractions I originally wrote for the A910i, but they should work for you, too.

If you´ve got an A910i want to help me, please get this tool, install it on your A910i (copy it to SD, choose the file in inbuild filemanager and it should install), run it, upload the files (maybe at rapidshare) and leave me a comment. Thanks!
BTW: Fred, did you contact sn9, as he was trying to get T-Mobile US UMA to work, too?

I can not see the directory structure or files on the a910 with p2kcommander 6. It keeps saying P2k/modem not connected.

I tried both modem and memory drive mode.

I can see following on p2kc:

USB p2k device found, phone connected!
    P2k Tci IF up
    TCI command set p2k05
    GSM Model : EZXB
    /a P2k phone system
    search files :/a/*.*
    Free Space : 116KBytes

    NOW What next ?

Cool! Now, this would be great to download a/mobile/settings/uma_setting.txt .
And did you had success in getting an ssh , you could use putty on windows.

My p2kC keeps dying. I tried version 6 and 5.1 too. I am on XP Pro ( 32 bit ). It does connect. I see the directory listing but when I start the copy p2kc dies. Several times .. about 6 or 7.

    Any idea why ?
