Thumbs up A910/WIFI: Guide to connecting succefully with wifi.

Brand new A910s are mostly branded. For example, BT and NEUF phones are configured only for BT and NEUF Hotspots or Open Air Networks respectively.
However, there’s a way out, thanks to modders like P3T3R, SABROD and KETA. Flashing your with P3T3R’s igeekmod/firmware (080814.7z) will leave you with a cool A910 with wifi unlocked. After this, you will easily connect to Free Wifi networks.
Softwares: You will need these programs= RSDLITE, MOTOROLA PHONE TOOL 5.0, WINZIP or WINRAR.
STEP1: Backup your contacts! You may install Motorola Phone Tools 5.0 and use it to back up your phone numbers if they are quite much; otherwise, you might just save them on your SimCard.
STEP2: DOWNLOAD P3T3R’S igeekmod. Unzip/unrar it into a folder and save it somewhere on your system.
STEP3: INSTALL RSDLITE 2.7 and with this you should flash your A910 with P3T3R’s igeekmod previously downloaded. NOW, YOU HAVE A GOOD-AS-NEW A910 with wifi unlocked.
#NOTE: This section is not designed to teach you how to flash but just to briefly explain the different stages leading to free Wifi browsing on the A910.
STEP4: From the Main Menu, click on the wifi icon.
SEARCH FOR AVAILABLE NETWORKS. Generally, you will see two types of wifi networks…
    a. Open Networks ( these are free)
    b. Locked Networks (these ones appear with a padlock logo)

    a. Since we are interested in the free Networks, click on any of the free networks and you’ll receive a message that the connection is completed. CONGRATULATIONS! Click OK to close the window then start your Phone Browser and you are good to go.
    b. You can also try connecting to locked networks if you know the PASSPHRASE. Click on the Locked Network and you’ll be asked to enter the PASSPHRASE. Enter this and you’ll see Connection was successful. Once connected, open your Phone Browser and have fun!

Still having problems? FAQs? Need help configuring your SIP?
Let me have your comments and watch out for Part 2 of this Post.

Opera (built in native) should need some tricks after that to connect to internet:

I would recommend to use opera mini (use E2 version), as long as it automaticly choose the right network to connect...That avoid connection profiles conflicts.

If you want to keep the native opera (and never use GPRS), just go to apps menu>opera>setting>connection> then create a new profile for WIFI (choose 'INSMAPI' instead of any wap or gprs option you have, then save that as default connection).

Sorry, i could only download the french version of opera mini... I attached it there.

Sabrod mentioned in his response to this post that if you want to keep the native opera (and never use GPRS), just go to apps menu>opera>setting>connection> then create a new profile for WIFI (choose 'INSMAPI' instead of any wap or gprs option you have, then save that as default connection).
