Is the E895 the same a a910 ?

In this chinese thread, (you have to login to see everything, just look at the login/register.html in status bar if you are not chinese speaking), it seems that they are the same...

But do you have the wifi, on e895?
In the igeekmod firmware there is a lot of wifi apps, perhaps unnecessary...
Personnaly I wouln't try that unless there is a "AP+kernel and setting only" working firmware released... A lot safer as you can try almost everything and go back after.

your right i cant read it at all i dont have an a910 i have a e895 and it seems to have a different software i believe my firmware is r561

i would have edited my post but odd thing my e895 is quadband wasnt this suppose to be a triband phone isnt also the a910 a triband phone wonder why mine has quadband

Here you can compare the firmware version for a910 with the one from your e895: A910 - OpenEZX
r561? I've never heard about that...
I think you need to register to the chinese forum and write a message there, first. They give the firmware and have the photos for both phone... (you can find this file from a vkin's thread here, in a910 forum, too ).
But be carefull, ask first to them if they have another firmware for you , especially designed for e895...
You never know. You could damage your phone. (I can be unusable and near from dead after a bad flash...).
Also, I believe all theses phones are quad band, but certains don't have this enable.

Afaik, E895 is an A910 without WiFi. Motorola planned this devices for different markets: While A910 is "business" (i believe that this is a pretty bad joke, as it lacks features for that (no document viewer..)) E895 is rather "entertainment".

But this doesn´t help you.

I would like to ask you to try reading out your firmware using this tool.
Regarding flashing A910 firmware please find out what´s your bootloader version (on A910 you just press the VoiceRec/Camera button (on the right side) while starting up) and tell us more details about your software version.

And it would be nice to see what E895 exactly looks like, i believe it has a headphone jack ?!.. Photos are highly appreciated

Why can´t you use the phone? Is it kind of defected?

Just to describe entering the bootloader menu again (the way it is done on A910): press the key on the right side of the phone and keep it pressed while you start the phone up.

And it would be really nice (if you can do that, as you need to have a microSD-card for that, and if your phone works "enough" to do so) if you could read out the AP firmware of an E895. If you need further instructions, please ask (i´ll quote old explanations for that just below)!

If you´ve got an E895 want to help me, please get this tool, install it on your E895 (copy it to SD, choose the file in inbuild filemanager and it should install), run it, upload the files (maybe at rapidshare) and leave me a comment. Thanks!

Systdowsys: I think its a beautifull phone, the dark grey change from the clear grey of the A910
There are probably very good firmware for it , because of it's similarity from the E2, perhaps some firmware work for both phones... But sorry, as I never heard about that, I only can tell you to register the chinese forum I told you about, as there are e895 owners there...
-just open 2 browsers windows with both (google) translated and original page and register like this...After that you will have to leave a comment/report for the thread, then you will be authorized to ask questions.
Yes it's a rare phone, but it's a well know design, a lot of apps should run finely on it, it should be well supported by openezx so qtopia, Freesmartphone.org, openmoko, or android firmware are coming...(like for all others "ezx" linux moto's phones,btw)
Of course, only do the flash only if you successfully backed up the original firmware: It work both way
1- modders are happy...
2- you can go back to original fw when you want.
I repeat my advise: prefer "AP only" fw to "AP + BP", "Full SHX" or "full", these fw could hurt thing.
