Wifi connection doesn't run

Hi there,

I received my A910 two days ago.(Ordered on Ebay.uk)
So I would like to know if:
- I can use this mobile to surf via wifi connection ? If so, how to proceed? Because I tried to connect it on my wifi modem (WPA security) without success.
It's weird because A910 should work with WPA security according the manual.
FYI, I proceeded like that : available network => my "network" => passphrase => connect ===> connection failed

NB: I did it several time without success.

- I can use this mobile to phone via wifi connection ? Actually if a day I success to connect thru the wifi, can I do two things in same time, I mean surf and phone.

Hi!
I guess that your new A910 is still on a genuine firmware. this means that you aren´t able to use "normal" (non UMA enabled) Wireless networks.

There is a firmware I modded, you´ll find it in this forums - it enables you to do what you want to do. SIP is possible, configuration is still a mess, but I am trying to fix this.

Hi s00lee, as p3t3r said you need to load his firmware (called igeekmod) to free up your Wifi. You currently have original BTUK firmware which enables you to connnect via BT networks (such as openzone) but will NOT connect to any other wifi networks. So download the igeekmod firmware (it's a .sbf file), load it via RSDLite and then you can do what you describe in post#1 again. Note: at the moment p3t3r firmware works with WPA1. WPA2 is a future feature which p3t3r may implement.

So I set up RSD Lite V4.2 via Wine on my Ubuntu 8.04.1
Apparently, it works.


I plugged my A910 (Full charge + modem connection has been set on it) with a USB cable. I launched RSD Lite BUT my mobile doesn't appear.
I clicked several times on "show device" button but nothing.

Just FYI: On Ubuntu A910 is recognized like that:
run dmesg on terminal and here the result :

May be I forgot something to set? Any idea ?

Just to answer about this old thread from mine.
At that time I succeed to install Igeekmode on my A910 with Windows but not unfortunately with Ubuntu.
That's it. It was just to inform.
