Thread: A910 - New Firmware enables user to surf the Internet via Wifi

Default A910 - New Firmware enables user to surf the Internet via Wifi

As you see the title, maybe you can guess how happy I am to have this working now.
I will release the firmware as soon as I made sure, that there are no more bugs (ATM there are some in additional apps).

If you want to be a beta-tester, just send me a PM.

you have E2's or some other's phone's mpkgs so it's normal that not every softs you tried worked out of the box...
There is a need of an SDK...to make our own's mpkg's for A910...

BTW to speak about p3t3r's work, in this firmware, he add some feature to make running more software (E2 ones) so this can help.

    Thumbs up

P3t3r, Do you know where to begin -or if someone is working- on creating an SDK, specifically for our A910 ?
I know we have to extract headers, but the ones from kernel? Those of modules???
    From motodev's sourcecodes?
What do we do with the libs on the phone??

Well I'm not a very experimented dev and I'd like to understand more.
If you could light my linux and programming little desk on that....

    A new linmob's article??

As your site grow, it gegin to be very rich on tech's docs! thanks, I have to congratulate you for that and for your work.

I like very much your firmware, IT'S IN MULTILANGUAGE WITH FRENCH , I'm really happy, that's a way from ORANGE's application locked FW...

@Hippium: perhaps you need a code to activate the mpkg on your firmware?

Now I 've definetly chosen the A910 for my everyday phone!!

    I don't know ...

If you give a link to a specific mpkg, I could try it on orange and on igeekmod firmware.

code(s) should depend on the firmware -probably-

Just ask the mobile operator that locked it...
Orange usually lock their device but just tell you the unlock code if you call the technical hotline with a little warn about virus and unstability issues...

Well, I am no developer, especially no QT-developer, so I can't tell you how to do that. But as E2 and A910 both use QT 2.3.8, I'd advise you to try this.

I just know how to make a working firmware out of a bunch of files, and it took me a long time to learn that

BTW: I think I'll create a new igeekmod this month.. if you have ideas (new features, changes - whatever), please tell me.

Well, the great things is that your phone just BOOT!!

I'd re-try to flash if that kind of things happened in my phone, but can you already go to flash mode?
Did you tried to reflash another time? (2,3,4 times?)

In this forum, I've read a lot of stranges stories about flasher's experiences... always passionating, but sometimes completely abnormal, illogical things.
I can give you my thought, but take them with a lot of reserves...
so you should try to use the "firmware eraser" before flashing (I'm REALLY not used to your problem and to flashing things) .
Ask to the pros before!! I've just read that it would help sometimes for others phones but I don't know if this software will work correctly with the A910.

Did you tried the 2 releases of IGeekMod, just in order to not reflash with the same bytes and shaking the datas a little (bit)?

Say so if you want me to send it to you.

I (as a modder) have heard of many problem with not working A910s (some have been flashed with wrong (e.g. Rokr E2) firmwares, others don´t work due to reasons I don´t know.
Maybe one problem is that we have no *.shx-flash files, but I am not an expert regarding differences of SBF and SHX.
But as I never had this kind of a problem, I don´t know how to solve it.

As an advice: Maybe there was a similar problem with another (especially 2rd gen) EZX-phone - it might give a hint to solve your problems.

And even if there is no solution, keep your A910, don´t throw it away - we might have working OpenEZX on A910 soon and it might be able to get your A910 to work again.

@davioxx: I don´t think the AP bootloader is the problem (as mine is the same).
