Default Using A780 as ir remote control

Sorry thread topic promised more than is...
Thought about using lirc and accessing the irda port...

Know that often irda controller is incompatible with remote control frequencies etc, but sometimes works and it would be cool! Sad about that E680 has no irda port

    Hi Pascal,

There are remotes and devices which used radio frequency...There are wireless mouse and keyboards..But we dont know their frequencies...etc.. frankly.. we dont know whether we can control them using E680/A780...

Regarding Infrared...AFAIK A78o does not have infra red port.. Infra red is more like invisible light...so.. i dont think its possible...

But..can we attach devices like Infrared dongles to E680/A780 to get the feature?? I thik this sounds good but is there anybody who have anyhting like this on any other devices? Alos wonder who have both A780 and a IR dongle..if there is some clue that its possible.. I'm gonna buy to experimane t the same.. We can control all TVs and Music systems.. Not only that.. we can connect to Laptops havng IR but w/out BT wirelessly

If u really like to control ur tv, music center, ... via phone, I would put an IR sender to a pc and control this via bluetooth from the phone. Then u can also control ur pc via bluetooth.

I'm thinking in mod my E680i attaching a small soic factor microcontroller to the I2C bus(the same used for camera/radio) inside the phone. But this will have to wait because modifying internal phone connections are really dangerous hehe. Maybe, if this procedure can be done in e680i, it can be done in a780/e680 also.
This can really increase the phone connectivity or really blow it up hehehehe
