Hello Xen, do I have to install the linloader before installing the EzxMpkg software?
Required:
LinLoader - A MUST-HAVE
the EzxMpkg software- Duhhh
Follow the instructions PLEASE
LINLOADER IS REQUIRED. IF NOT IT WON'T WORK
Edit:Try not to just tap Install.lin more than once please, for me it resulted in multiple installations of the EzxMpkg software, so i had to manually uninstall all of the extras. As a piece of advise long tap then open with, it helps.
There has been many threads in the forums with noobs asking why they can't install mpkg files. The solution is in the forums itself, however its pretty hard to find.
First off, you'll need earkin's EzxMpkg software, which is probably the last hope for all of those who can't get their phones to work with the mpkg. I hope he doesn't mind me uploading it here and giving clearer instructions.
Download the ezxmpkg
UnRar/UnZip it.
You will see a folder called Installer, an MTF file, and a txt file.
Dump it all into your phone, and then tap on the Install.lin file. This will install the necessary components into the QTDownload folder in your .system place. As for the mtf file, i really did not know what to do with it, so i just let it be.
Then RESTART your phone. a very important step.
You wil then see the MPKG installer logo in the menu.
Take whatever MPKG file you want to download and rename it to a .pkg file.
Long tap, and open with the ezx-installer.
Restart your phone and that program will appear.

Hope this will stickied for reference for all those with problems. Comments are appreciated.![]()
Hello Xen, do I have to install the linloader before installing the EzxMpkg software?
Yes indeed, if you don't have linloader, you won't be able to open the .lin file which installs the EzxMpkg software. I really hope this is stickied so people won't keep asking what is wrong with their phone![]()

hey xen,
would you please update your first post with a message that linloader is needed to run the installer?
stickie enough?
Hi, please keep in mind that I am completely new to this. Besides, I tried, I succeeded to install the linloader, than tried the EzxMpkg program according to your posted "step by step". It resulted in some crash for after tapping the Install.lin file, no pop-up appeared, instead I got a blank screen with :install with...not offering any program to install and when I tapped more, the linloade did not appear among the programs offered for installation. I found that the PlugCardDB was rewritten by the EzxMpkg.
Than I tried to reinstall the linloader, did everything according the manual I used before, but the arrow icon did not display, nor did the program.
So do you think you could help? I would appreciate it.
Ok viktor it is completely fine that you are a newbie. Everyone was a noobie. So let me try my best to help you. I think i should add this to the post Never tap Install.lin more than once please, for me it resulted in multiple installations of the EzxMpkg software, so i had to manually uninstall all of the extras. As a piece of advise long tap then open with, it helps.
what I did was that i put Install.lin on my memory card. Tapped it installed with Lin then restarted. One thing I found out that patience is the key. I have hanged my phone countless times because of my impatience (e.g. clicking warcraft 3 times).
As for your situation, reinstall lin with your backed up PlugCardDB, (can someone provide this poor fellow an original PCDB?) then making sure all the folders are right, install, then wait, then reboot. Tell me what happens.
Only too happy to help.
xen
btw: arrow icon does not display probably because the LinLoader folder in the PCDB folder got deleted, thats why image is not popping up. :P
Hi Xen, thanks a lot for the advice!I think I had the same problem - multiple installation - as you mentioned. Do not know whether I deleted it completely
The long tap - I did it and the window "open with" opened, but there was no program suggested to open it with, just the "always open it with" and black dot in white circle -like the one you are supposed to chose; than a link to "more...". I tapped "more" and there were all the programs available for opening the file, exept THE necessary linloader. So I am not sure that the linloader is installed or not. The icon does not appear - perhaps deleted as you said. However, I have had a back up of the said transflash card's edited file (from before the very first attempt to install the linloader). I replaced the rewritten file with it and than I tried to reinstall the linloader, reediting the original file again. Without the icon apearing and without the possibility to use the test.lin. So I guess the linloader is not properly installed.
I understand it needs patience, wish it was like Windows - uninstall, reinstall..

dude... you do not wanna compare linux with windows... windows mobile is not only very buggy AND a system hog, its hard to customize.
who else agrees that linux pwns windows?
Hey, nothing against linuxThis is my first phone with operation system. BTW, any chance to talk to you, perhaps over the Skype? If you do Skype, my nick is michalikv and will be online at about 8:40 a.m. Beijing time tomorrow. I hope I did not break any rule to ask a consultation via other means than this forum?
