Got my A780 Yesterday!

First reactions: very well finished product. doesnt have a 'flimsy' feel to it that some nokias do. good size. easy to hold in candy bar or flip mode.

user interface:

why is it that you cant mute the ringer when the flip is over. you can do this when the flip is down by pushing the rocker key up, right? why cant we have the same function when its open. am i missing something. scoured the manual but apparently you cant mute ringer with the flip opened. is this supposed to be a "feature" ... like the cant vibrate and ring thing .. ?

its nice that Moto has thrown everything into the box. i get 128 MB transflash, 2 extra stylii, car charger, data cable, Moto Phone Tools (!!!), pimpin' black leather case with belt clip, headphones. basically all the accessories to get you started. { now if only they had thrown in a bluetooth headset & a car kit .. hmm }

this cost me Rs 13,500 here in hyderabad, India, which is about 235 euros or $290 US.

syncing has been a bit of a nightmare tho. with no sync conduits for osx (yet ... ?) i had to take it in to work today, set up MPT on my desktop and sync with Outlook. It seems to behave all right with windoze altho it takes ages to read / write to phone memory. one thing: there doesnt seem to be an option of syncing outlook notes on MPT.... .... why ??

mobical doesnt seem to work either, but i suspect that could be an operator issue. I'm on a Hutch Network. EDGE seems pretty quick. Set up a pop3/smtp account on hotpop and was away and running. Opera seems buggy tho. Cant get it to open gmail.
