Has anyone successfully streamed audio to an a780?

Hello, I was thinking of setting up an audio server that can stream mp3's in a format the the phone can read, but haven't got anywhere with it as of yet.. I was just wondering if anyone has had any success in this area.. since shoutcast does not seem to work, I have downloaded the free helix server, and have been tweaking it to try to get it through the firewall.. but I thought before I wasted to much time with it I would ask if anyone has had any success with such things..

Just use openpvn . That's what i'm gonna do. With http encapsulation, you're able to pass any firewall if you got access to an http proxy. I'm currently wondering about the bandwith loss (i estimated around 20% for my provider; leaves around 170 kbits bandwith, with 600kbytes http packets, i'd like to do 128k ogg streaming with shoutcast thanks to kplaylist, over vpn, or eventually samba/nfs over openvpn).

Could anyone tell me about battery load while constant downloading? (220 kbits edge) Did anyone try my project? I don't own an EZX myself I'm looking to buy one soon

Yes I could get mp3 streamed @128kpbs over bluezx - not GPRS - from a live555 streaming server running on linux on the LAN to a distance of 20 ft! Even videos should work but I guess I'll have to downsample it a bit.

And yes, I do use openVPN all the time to stay online on my A780 at office across the firewall Is that your project ethernode? If yes, thanx a lot for the great project!

I have nasty filtering http proxy to bypass And an 10€/month unlimited edge access. That's why.

Can you do OpenVPN over GPRS?
