I've already found out that Motovision app starts a server on the phone's port 14567. If I've got some free time maybe I would write similar app for Linux![]()
hi all,
I usually just lurk on this forum and don't post but this is a great community and I'm glad that I purchased a moto A780 almost a year ago...
anyway I had a question for any A780 developers/hackers out there -- I recently stumbled across the Motovision application to use your A780 as a webcam, and now that I've gotten it working, I'm excited to use it when Skype-ing....
but unfortunately the screen is all nasty and squashed, plus the app is for windowz and I prefer to use Linux on my laptop... (ok, here comes the question)
so what I was wondering: is it possible to access the camera device through ppp? or perhaps clone the screen and rotate it, also through ppp? if it isn't obvious, I don't know exactly what I'm asking/talking about, but it seems that it might be possible, especially if both ends of the cable connection are running Linux..
anyway thank you and thanks to all the moderators and admins of this amazing forum!

I've got a way around this problem. We could use the avld to create the video loopback device and mencoder to feed it with a video stream. Now we must get a server to stream video from camera
I've spent about half an hour to get an avi display on skype video![]()
You are not alone Roman Yepishev is developing a new camera application for the A1200. Maybe is good to contact him and make an exchange.
