Nope. refer to Step B2 in my earlier post, the CLIENT message should appear on shell on phone.

It means BTPPP on phone is fine. I guess OK must be coming from BT modem when the dialer sends ATZ for modem reset - that message must be alright.
Not sure if it is specific to WinX you are using. Try the 'cat < /dev/pts/1' on telnet again and setup dialer until you get a CLIENT message through /dev/pts/1. I'm updating the zip with a readme, just recheck if the steps you have used are same.

PS: I have been using internet on my A780 (no gprs) at home (direct Internet) and at office (through proxy) connected to a WinXP running freeproxy for a week now. Even the email (pop/smtp) & vnc works fine on phone! Still to try the VOIP and RSS reader though...

OT: Lol why do we all have things like 'Moderator' and 'Developer' above our names?

Do you get 'ATE1' everytime you dialup your phone from your PC? Have you got port speed set to '115200' and flow control set to 'Hardware' for the COM port corressponding to SPP on your PC?

There were others (rpconnect, ravindran?) who were intrested in getting internet working through Windows.. Are you guys facing similar issues?

    Hello Guys,

I was able to ping www.yahoo.com , www.google.com from my telnet session from my E680i phone (firmware original, not yet upgraded)

I used leoppp, plus MackPack (thanks guys).

I installed NAT using wingate to my pc and i was able to ping web sites from a Bluetooth telnet sesion.

But I cannot access any website from Opera Browser, I think the Opera browser is not seeing the fake gprs0 made by MackPack.

Any suggestions? Is there any HTML browser that I can install that is compatible with MackPack?

Thanks to Leo and Mack for the PPP and fake gprs.

I am now able to use Opera Mini to browse internet through my broadband connection and not use GPRS.

thanks to leo and mack and everbody.

Read and try and read and try and read and try

Good I got a company finally!!

    @pepito
Have you got bridging up on WinXP? I guess WinXP doesn't allow bridging for dialups (ppp) but only for LANs. I run a freeproxy on WinXP but I need to tunnel individual ports in there. Can you please share the steps you followed on WinXP (and update Wiki as well so that others don't have to [read n try]+ )?

i'm trying to follow the WinBTPPP_ReadMe from pnail and understand everything except the very first thing under step A:
    --
    1) Setup BT SPP with phone
    --
i have no clue what that means... can someone please explain this?

    also,
i don't have a GPRS account with my current provider(since i'm in the middle of switchin providers), but do i need one to make this work or is the GPRS decoy mentioned here enough to make it work??

    edit:
i do already have telnet over belcarra driver working, does that make a difference?
you can get anything you want at alices restaurant
