    You know that the first version he released was corrupt, and that you needed to install a patch right?
    Yes, but does it run Linux?

    hi maxx_730, Thank you for your reply

    I already used updated leopopup.jar from http://www.www.motorolafans.com/inde...r=asc&start=15

    For sure, I just did load it again, uninstall existing leopopup in my phone , install updated leopopup.jar again and also change SUITEID to match JavaId number but it still appear the same error.

    OK, my connectivity pack (version 0.1) is ready. Now you can try that VoIP call you want, for free.

    Wow! Thanks Mack!!!! Anyone got this working through Windows (damn, I need it at work, at home Linux rules!!)

    BTW, seems many ppl had troubles connecting to Windows over Bluetooth using my script:

    Am not sure if I used 'Host' or 'Guest' for network settings on Windows. Try ['setup an advanced connection' -> 'Connect directly to computer' -> 'Guest'] instead to get the 'Direct' connection up. I'll anyways try it again on weekend (when am trying Macks great work too) and update my earlier post, sorry for all the troubles guys...

    rpconnect, let me know if 'Guest' works for you and do update me please if you get onto it before me. For the internet over bluetooth, we might need "incoming connection" settings itself on Windows to be able to bridge it to broadband. So if anyone wants to try modifying my scripts to work with 'incoming connections' on WinX, heres the hint:

    <hint>
    Try replacing CLIENTSERVER by CLIENT in the following line in script:

    echo "$devname 115200 192.168.1.2:192.168.1.4 noauth crtscts local connect 'sleep 1; echo -n CLIENTSERVER' logfile /tmp/ppp.log" > /etc/ppp/peers/myhost

    </hint>

    Will just need some 'cat /tmp/bt_spp_devname', 'echo {testString} > /tmp/bt_spp_devname' and patience (more the better) to make it work on WinX!!

    @pnail
    Thanks for the response. i had tried the guest connection before but was unaware of the change from client to clientserver, so I will try it again w/ your hint, .

    update: I tried to create a connection w/ the WinXP machine as guest and changed CLIENTSERVER to CLIENT. When I click on the new connection it asks for a user name and password. I leave both blank and while it says connecting the phone asks to confirm the SPP connection, after than I run the modified btppp_start script, but nothing happes and after a couple of seconds the connection (from Win) gives me a connecting error (#777) and asks if I want to dial again.

    Is there something else we should be echoing back to the Win machine to get it to pick up the ppp connection?

    Oops.. I guess I have confused you. When you are dialing from WinX (i.e. setting PC as a guest in direct connection), then PC sends CLIENT and phone responds with CLIENTSERVER. So you don't have to change anything in script for that.

    The CLIENT change is required on the phone when you are dialing into WinX i.e setup an incoming connection on PC which you mentioned that you could setup due to my mistake in the earlier post most probably. Once you verify, I'll update the post

    Seems you have got 'Direct Connection' as you are being prompted for username/passwd. Try without changing the script, it should work now...

    PS: You can disable prompt for user/password in the properties of 'Direct connection'

    well, I guess direction doesn't matter for ppp. So the 'Direct Connect' as 'Guest' is good enough to have internet on phone with BTppp to a WinXP.

    Don't halfta worry about making 'Incoming Connection' network setting to work!!

    heres what i've tried
    1. connect spp, windows assign com13 for spp
    2. start leoppp, started fine i think
    3. connect hyperterminal to port 13
    4. after connected, i immediately see junks going over and over, this happened altho i havent type anything yet

    heres another:
    1. connect spp, windows assign com13 for spp
    2. connect advanced guest connection as mentioned earlier in your post
    3. it shows dialing........ in the modem terminal, it says "OK". i thought its suppose to say "CLIENT", then i should start leoppp, and leoppp would reply "CLIENTSERVER", am i right?
    4. after a while i just started leoppp without waiting for modem terminal to show "CLIENT"
    5. now modem terminal shows "CLIENTSERVER....followed by some junks..."
    6. connection screen still shows dialing

    where could i've gone wrong?
