about sip, found a way to make calls !
the calls are... Video Calls !
the codecs used arE amr and h263.
Any volunteers to talk with me through SIP ?
If anybody volunteers, please flash with c5.a9p + ccrx service pack, and then install the e680i optimized flex (its similar to a780 optimized, found on ccmove).
Then will send you auth. credentials for sip and how to call.

I disabled it on the home screen, but I still get the update flash.

switch off the phone and switch back on the update thing should be gone... i pressed that once and it keeps on updating the contents also

that mysterious CG17 changes 2 seems in phone:

004e_0001.seem
offset 0x232 0x233
old: BD 9E   (10111101 10011110)
new: C3 FE   (11000011 11111110)

0050_0001.seem
offset 0xA7
old: BE   (10111110)
new: C0   (11000000)

seems this is not just bit manipulation but these addresses store values for something. Flashing CG17 without modified CG15 (/usr/setup) i just get new silent camera option (and probably taking pictures continuously - haven't checked this before). If the volume increased it's hard to say.
Can't find SIP or P2P or channel options.
So the rest of modifications are located in CG15 ezx_flexbits.cfg

I apologize for sounding like a newb and I have combed through these forums for an answer to my question to no avail.

How do you flash OPTIMIZED_SETUP_A780.shx using flashkit? I don't want to lose any of my settings using the PST method. If this can't be accomplished using flashkit, will someone share with me their rootfs and/or the setup partitions with the OPTIMIZED_SETUP_A780.shx applied?

Flashkit cannot be used to write SHX files. You'll need to find another tool that can.

type = 4 is supported after flashing
and u can install the mpkg also as a preload..

Is it possbile to have this with out the internet web section and to leave the original in tact? Currently applying this bars from connecting to other providers. I have applied which re-enabled my voice command (it is shut off with the NA version supplied) but before applying alll teh network conections wehre making it but after appying nothing at lal. The www was replaced with and sets it to monternet as the default and can't even re do it with the new settings from my provider.

I am able to connect after flashing the Optimized_Setup. If you create a new profile under Monternet, you can't browse the web?

I have done that and it will not let me. I connect via mmode on the ATTW side of Cingualr. I also get the OTA update for all teh settings from there. All works before teh Optimized but afert that nothing. I also noticed that when I apply the Optimized PSt will no longer recognize teh IMEI of the phone and i get ADADAD instead of the real number.

Wow. I am unfamiliar with this issue. Maybe you should try making the seem edits instead of flashing the optimized setup. I know the EDGE seem edit is available. I don't know about the others.
