    Default Signal issues

Hey guys I have an old A780, I already flashed it with a German version of firmware, now I live in Central America and after flash my cell the signal becomes very poor, I mean I really need to stay just beside a signal tower to get a good signal, do I have to change something on the firmware or do I really need to change my old phone.

    Thanks,

i have not seen any difference in signal quality on different firmwares.
have you checked your network setup?
maybe you have only enabled 2 bands.

ok I did that, now do I have to have at least a little bit of signal, because with the SIM card inserted it show me other options and I don't have signal at all here at my work with that cell phone.

can you test the SIM in another mobile at the same place.
i have had nearly the same reception with an old V3 and my A780 at bad places.

it doesnt look like a software problem to me, but it is never a failure to make tests with different firmwares (this is easier than hardware disassemply)
    firmwares:

    page 37:
    2. Telephone exhibits poor reception or
erratic operation such as calls frequently
dropping or weak or distorted audio.

Check to make sure that the antenna pin is
properly connected to the transceiver board
assembly. If connected properly, substitute a
known good antenna. If the fault is still present,
    proceed to b.
