Ohh i found another 0D.74.A2R on my old Laptop

So here you can choose, AFAIK, between china branded and Hong Kong Generic.

    CB:
    R52_G_0D.74.A2R_0D.C0.B1P_T674KF_L005_S002_P001_GSOA780T674KF064

    HKG:
    R52_G_0D.74.A2R_0D.C0.B1P_T673AU_L004_S022_P004_GSOA780T673AU064

any one with a success story of the Asian fw posted by halftux?

    Post asian firmware info

As far as I know these firmwares are not modified and without gps. I think for asian firmware is the best to look at some chinese, vietnamese or japanese forum like ccmove. There were some people who tried these firmwares and made a report. I believe that only the firmware from Taiwan ended at v50 in the other countries they sold also some devices with higher firmware.

I think at ccmove there also have some unbranded cg35 for v74 firmware.

To get some basic information you can have a look here.

    ccmove

    openezx.wiki

Sorry that I cant help here I dont own an Asian A780. I was only collecting firmware for developer purpose and never tried these ones... However no risk no fun

hey thank you I forgot about that list from openezx I was frequenting their status and blogs and forgot about that.

hey I just realized that the dsp on my phone is not 62373700 and I have the old one 62252500 would there be a problem if you have the old dsp and you installed a new fw which is paired with the latest dsp.

In general i can only say be careful with flashing.
It could be that v50 devices behave different or the users had different abilities.
I think you know the stories about the transition firmware and going from v50_nongps to v76_gps.

However you want to try a v74 non gps designed for a different DSP. I would say 3 possibilities nothing happens all is ok or the communication with the gsm antenna could be broken, or AP/BP got not flashed.

See following thread and save so many information as you can from your working phone before flashing your device. And maybe you need to repair the new firmware like here:

Help - No Network after flashing

And try to find informations about the new firmware. There is also something here:

A780 Firmware R52_G_0D.74.A2R ... (may be asia version)

    firmware R52_G_0D.74.A2R R52_G_0D.C0.B1P GSOA780T673AU064

So its your decision to flash your phone try to get only some informations before flashing and estimate the risk. I would give it a try. Flashing with a full good battery cant brick your phone and you can enter everytime into bootloader and flash an old firmware back. However this phone gets old and the most professionals have other devices and do not look here anymore. To get a good awnser would take some time, so here you saw mine...
May the full battery be with you.

my phone's original firmware posted below (might be flashed by the previous owner but most likely not)

My second firmware (R52_G_0D.50.AHP_0D.41.B1P)which I hated for being red see my post about it.

My third fw so far so good successful flashing of the hong kong branded. The phone is now back to its original colors, and I love it.

I only had time to check the camera and it now has silent in its options.

    Thanks Halftux

    My phones firmware is now
    AP R52_G_0D.74.A2R
    BP R52_G_0D.41.B1P
    BP FLEX GSOA780T674KF063
    DSP 62252500

    My experiences with it.

First I backed up my phone using this guide then return the contacts, sms, tasks and calendar by restoring the backup made by mpt and then copying the files back to /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/

by the way at+mode=99 doesn't work anymore unlike my two previous fw so I learned to use acmattach.lin

after copying my backups everything looked fine but the calendar doesn't work it would open for a second then close. I thought I should have copied the original files from /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/ but remembered it could be fixed by a master reset/clear (couldn't remember which) then it worked again.
What I liked when I copy my backup is it keeps my phones directory category intact but I guess I would have to settle for a synchronization. After the synchronization its back with quirky categories (have to manually edit those) but complete contacts I guess f0x0r was right since my calendar is now snappy but I could not say now for sure if it was because outlook added junk to my phone and now that its gone the calendar is responsive or it was because of a new FW.

I had problems with SMS but it was just because of the Service Center Number.

Also with the GPRS but I found the culprit in an unlikely place - ezx_idle.cfg, the thing you edit for the front shortcuts.

So far that is all that I discovered.

    Smile nice

Nice to see that your phone works with the new AP.
It seems the database structure changed, thats the reason why your backup was not working.

    Thx for your statement.

I will also put something from Samr7:
If you upgrade firmware, don't install the R52_G_0D.61 or R52_G_0D.74 firmware, or if you do, install the R52_G_0D.50AHP first. The 0D.61 or 0D.74 superfiles include RSA-signed BP firmware that is only compatible with a BP chip that supports RSA signatures. Given the BP version you cite, your phone probably requires non-signed BP firmware, the newest version of which is included in the 0D.50AHP superfile. See the "Secure_Motorola_Boot" thread.

Both the 0D.50AHP and 0D.74 firmwares include Opera build 1229.
borgs you had luck because you flashed with the R52_G_0D.50AHP
    before flashing with OD.74.
So i would say if somebody want to flash the latest asian firmware, be sure to have R52_G_0D.50AHP or flash it before.

I can also provide the R52_G_0D.50AHP with the latest BP if needed.
