I haven`t flashed OPTIMIZED_SETUP, you think it may does matter?
btw, I didnt install it because it have bug (when you trying to edit contact you can`t edit first name - it shows "Country" instead name...
Did you notice it?
I have american 74 and thought that german may fix that problem...

Interesting. I can claim to have been bitten by the uneditable first name bug in the address book app, but was not aware that this was caused by changes from the OPTIMIZED_SETUP...

As for the setups in the North American vs. German firmwares, I compared the flex bits, and guess what? The ONLY difference is that flex bit 0xA2 is set in the German setup, but clear in the North American setup. There are simple remedies for this, such as splitting off the German setup into its own (much smaller) SHX file for flashing. Interested?

These were reverse-engineered. For the most part, it's not even very hard to do. Symbol mangling in g++ is a wonderful thing, and the majority of the file contents were derived from "arm-linux-nm --demangle" These discussions should be moved to the development forum anyway..

This is a bug, although when you scroll down and then back up when editing a contact, the first name field will appear and you may then edit the first name of the contact.

But I can`t see positives in OPTIMIZED_SETUP (except VR(I`ve never use it) and MPKG). IMHO, all differences are useless... Or am I wrong?

If you're not happy with it, or upset with some of its bugs, try flashing this file. It contains only the setup from the 0D.74 North American superfile, with the VR and Qt installer bits turned on.

Update: I totally botched the old one. Operator error. This one has been tested and seems to work. Despite setting flex bit 0x4B, the VR button still launches the voicenote app. More research will be required for this, but this superfile should safely enable the Qt app installer without the extra baggage that comes with OPTIMIZED_SETUP.

american f/w should be R52_G_0D.74.A2_S011.shx Am I right?

This was me being incredibly stupid. It will teach me to test things before posting them. My AP flash got blown away too. I hope nobody else tried to flash it, and that you didn't lose any data. The new one has been debugged, tested, and should be much better behaved. I'm really sorry for all the trouble.
