Motonav maps

i am an india... i got my a1600 with fully functional map of 30 cities in india. Its working gr8..... the only thing is it takes a lil bit of time to show ur current locatioon... and i think thats bcos of signal strength. But overall it works gr8....

Hi ciphershock, i suppose that the maps cames in you transflash. I want to know the format of that maps, can you upload in some place like rapidshare??

i dont know wat u mean by transflash.... i ll surely upload them for u and everyone else.....
it contains 1 demo map and 1 india map

ciphershock, In the transflash (memory card) must be loaded de indian´s map. As say in the manual of a1600, the transflash must have a folder motonav/ .there must be the maps for indian cities. Check this, and if you can, upload the contents of that folder.

Yes i got ur PM.... i did nt know u meant memory card by transflash.... yes my mem card has the folder of motonav.... and i shall send you the maps and its file extn tomo... so plz bear till then

I too am looking for a way to get North American maps for my a1600. i called motorola china for support (my wife is chinese, so she does th talkin) and they said right now they know of no plans to release more maps for it, the installed china or india maps are all ya get. go figure! hopefully something will come up soon.

Maps are the most difficult tasks.

There is a project to port TOMTOM to EZX with great success.

TomTom is linux base, and has all maps worldwide.

Can you make the files available from the 'motonav' directory please

hey clode.... the motonav folder is 37MB in size u want me to upload it all or anything specific
structure of the folder is
motonav>map>india>...
there r more than 15 files in this folder... with extns like
.mps, .rta to .rtv and more

Those files are Destinator Maps format. Just compress the directory with winzip and upload it to rapidshare.com or 4shared.com
