Thread: A1200 in India

  1. #1

    Default A1200 in India

So I finally get to try out one of the main uses I had in mind when getting this phone: Travel!

Has anyone here used their phone in India? Swap out the SIM card for a prepaid one? Any suggestions?

even if its locked, it should work if your service provider provides international roaming.
and if you to change ur SIM in india, then it must be unlocked

Not having a problem, looking for advance advice before I go. I will get there in a few weeks, and stay for about a month. My phone is unlocked. Getting a prepaid SIM card is the plan.

Gurneek, you have been able to switch between regular service and prepaid service no problem - so that answers my main concern. Is it difficult getting prepaid cards? Is there a particular service you recommend? (I'll mostly be in Pune, but plan to travel around a little)

    Thanks everyone who responded.

For a prepaid connection you have to submit documents like identity proof and address proof.or you have someone known here who is willing to buy you a card giving his/her proofs.Airtel is good for Pune.

Well I dunno if Hutch provided services in Pune, so the best option would be in that case Airtel, the other service provider there is BPL and I think Orange. Orange provides services in Mumbai and its really popular. I hope Orange hasnt moved out.

As for the handset itself it will not give a problem. I purchased one in India and am using it here in UAE and its amazing.
