Help: Opera mini doesnt work

I have tried to get opera mini (the latest version) to work with my ming but I always get an error. I assume its because of the network profile. What's strange is that the older version of opera built-in on 53P does work. I can browse all over the internet with it but cannot get the latest version to work. I cannot find anywhere in the application to select the network profile. All it does is run a connection test and fails every time. Suggestions?

Same problem here

I downloaded mini opera from http://www.operamini.com/download/pc...otorola_a1200/

It works like magic....But it crashes after 5 min.Hence I need to restart this application..

Is this a Known Bug...Or is there some workaround?

I tried this on Airtel in Delhi. I created a new network profile where I kept following settings:

APN: airtelgprs.com
DNS servers
get these from opera mini website

http://www.operamini.com/help/connect/

I use this profile for my Opera Mini and the other Airtel Profile (for which they had given me the settings) with the built in browser.

Works pretty well for now. It does crash when I try to post replies to scrap on orkut. Other than that, it works comfortably.

I have only WAP access from airtel,They call it airtel online.Rs 99 per month.

BTW..how much does regular data plan cost?

settings are not available thru that link for my country. I select motorola as the manufacturer and then I select internet and on the dropdown lost, USA is not included. how stupid is that? anyway, the builtin browser works perfectly and the newer version fails the connection test every time. Oh well....

Do you pay for a valid web/internet plan? I use that one free wap from T-Mobile trick and I can browse ANY WEBSITE for FREE. No charges whatsoever. Funny thing is, I tried it on the Opera Mini browser with no luck as well. I figure it wouldn't work since I didn't pay for WAP/Internet access. So that might be your problem there... Something to do with ports maybe? If you actually do have a data plan and pay for it monthly and it's not working, then I don't know what the problem is and I can't help ya there.

I do pay for T-Zones and opera mini has worked for me before in the past. My ming was on its original 53P firmware but now I have Bint's 53P plus V2 firmware and there may be something in there that is messing things up or I think it was a slightly older version of opera than the one that is out now. I had an option to select my network profile whereas now I dont. The built-in version of Opera mini works fine and I can browse to any website I want - so I know my WAP settings are correct. Cant figure out what's going on with the newer version.....

I was having the same problem with Opera Mini until I changed the port number from 9021 to 8800. Hope that helps.

poorboy168 - didn't fix the problem . Guess I will just have to settle for the built-in version.
