  1. Default Dropped in Water

The other week I accidentally dropped my motorla a1200 in water, and after letting it dry, it says invalid battery when i turn it on and after I try to charge it so i went out to buy a new battery today. Has this happened to anyone? What did you do to it? Any help or suggestions would be kindly appreciated

I work for Motorola US, may be i can help u. Usually, the best thing u can do is only in that moment. But...

In the moment: try to open de phone and shake it to pull out all the water. Then use a hair machine to dry the phone as fast as u can.

Later: may be the phone works but the gradual internal corrotion is what damages the circuits with time. Your options NOW are:

*Try another batt in the phone (may be only the batt mess up) Try another one in a cell store.
*If problems persist try to find a repair place who accepts to clean the internal corrotion. Some of them they do it but they dont give u any warr cose in a few month the corrotion comes back.

    Wish u luck with that.

Thanks for the help, I bought a new battery and put it in my phone and plugged it in to charge and everything but it seems like no power is charging into my phone. After a while since it seems like no power is going in to my phone as I charge it, the screen pops up saying invalid battery. Does my situation even seem fixable? Also on the back of my phone it says warranty expires on may 07, does that mean I can call motorola and ask for help?

Where should I take my phone to to get it hopefully fixed? What repair stores are there?

i answered your email already. i dont know motorola canada but here in motorola us (im at work right now jaja) we just replace the phones for 175dol-. for another with same features. and we do not replace cellphones. if i were u i should try to fix it in a clandestine place, its your last option (i never gonna tell u that in the customer service line hahhaha)

hahahah actually we cannot tell our customers to change a firmware from a NON US unit. And even worse if the customer wanna do it on his own. Like replacing the parts of the phone.

Try to imagine 30 calls per day about activating the cell phone with Tracfone calling Motorola for that ¬¬ omg, sometimes we hate them hahahhaa.

I think only 1 from 8 customers calling our line really knows about cells. I even know somethings we cannot tell them for confidenciality hehhe. Think that if a customer breaks the phone making an upgrade is gonna be our fault for telling them.

True.. You know i had a good experience with motorola service. I actually flashed my firmware to another one not stock... And something went wrong with my phone a long long time ago.. Anyway they fixed it and even flashed to the newest firmware. Maybe they knew who i was. haha
