I am sure some of you know this all ready, but just in case...
Sometimes when your pictures are NOT in exact the ratio of 3.2:2.4 (i.e., 320 x 240, 640 x 480, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200 etc.), you will see them distorted and grainy on your A1200. The eyes look bruised or shut, the shape of the face looks distored or lamed ... all this on your A1200 little screen. (Don't you hate that!) It makes you don't want to view any pictures that you have stored.
BUT if you use a graphic program (best on you computer) to crop the pics to the ratio above, ALL of your pics will come out on that little screen just perfect, nicely the way you want.
***Mind you, it must be exactly the ratio, NOT even like 640 x 481, but EXACTLY 640 x 480.
A little guide might help:
Ex.
A picture with a resolution of 755 x 520
= size it down to 640 x 480 (NOT higher)
A picture with a resolution of 430 x 280
= size it down to 320 x 240 (again NOT higher like 640 x 480)
A picture with a resolution of 1600 x 1201
= size it down to 1600 x 1200
**BUT
A picture with a resolution of 1600 x 1199
= MUST size it down to 1280 x 1024 (or it will be distored on your A1200)
OR
A picture with a resolution of 639 x 480
= must size it down to 320 x 240
You get the point.
I find that by cropping the pics accordingly, ALL my pictures appear perfectly WITHOUT any distortion.
(Just to have something to type. Hope it helps.

Thanks Alpha. That, is for those who scan their pics (or old pics), or for those who extract images.
