ame question for me but i'm waiting to get my hands on the new 4GB card coming out, anyone had a chance to look into these for compatibility issues?
First off i'd like to say i know this has been covered before, and i know that many users use a 2GB card successfully. But buying an 2GB microSD is a big investment for me, and i'd just like to know if there are ABSOLUTELY ANY ADVERSE EFFECTS (such as hanging/freezing/slowing down)...
Also, i may not be able to get my hands on a Sandisk card, will any other make also be compatable?
Thanks!

SanDisk cards (2gb) should work with no problems. I am using a 2gb Patriot card. As far as the 4gb cards, the A1200 cannot read those cards as it is SD 2.0 SDHC and will quite possible render the card useless and you have lost a lot of $$$. Stick with the 2gb for now.....

is that an issue that can be resolved by flashing to a newer firmware?
as far as I know...not at this time
a quote from Alpha..
"yes as a warning... DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE A ULTRA II CARD... THEY DO NOT WORK AND WILL RENDER THE CARD USELESS!
I used it once a long time ago when i first got my ming... luckily i got my money back.

Using SDHC cards need to change the cardreader-unit and rewrite the kernel I think.Originally Posted by TxTaquito
