internet speed on a1200

I'm considering buying the a1200, but I'm concerned about the internet browsing speed, as GPRS is way too slow for my usage. My provider has 3G EDGE coverage. Assuming that I get a1200 with EDGE capability, does it means that I will have the same browsing speed as in 3G EDGE ?

3G is different than EDGE. 3G is much faster, EDGE is slightly faster than normal GPRS.

using forum search you will find the correct guideness to enable edge.

Easier way -- just read the stickies on the forum, there's a good guide, particularly in "Guide to modding your A1200" from Alpha, look for letter J.
