Thread: Help: Can not get LinLoader to work on .08P firmware

Default Help: Can not get LinLoader to work on .08P firmware

    Hi All,
I have tried all possible things to get LinLoader work on A1200 with firmware 08p. I have come to conclusion that LinLoader is not supported on this firmware. When you try to run .lin file either it does not do anything or gives error "Invalid file type, Cannot find application to run this application" even when .lin files are associated to run with LinLoader.

I wish if someone can come up with a utility to install themes on .08p firware.

    Cheers,
    mrloko

Yes, same error here, can't use lin loader with this firmware.

Default Sorry, I take my words back. LinLoader works on 08p firmware

Sorry, as I have said earlier that linloader does not work on .08p generic firware. I got it to work. Here is how in brief

1> Copy MKPG installer attached in topic "yan's mkpg and linloader.mkpg installer"
2> Follow the instruction given in above mentioned topic to install MKPG.
3> There is a modified mkpg.lin file attached in topic "Volume Up". Copy that file and overwrite the mkpg.lin which is from yan's mkpg installer.
4> Then copy LinLoader.mkpg attached in topic "yan's mkpg and linloader installer".
5> Make sure you rename LinLoader.mkpg to LinLoader.pkg before copying it to TransFlash card.
6> Disconnect USB, and in your FileManager you will LinLoader.pkg.
7> Hold stylus on LinLoader.pkg untill u see Open With option in context menu.
8> Open this file with MKPG.
9> You will hear a beep sound after installation
10> Restart your phone and you will see LinLoader with smiley icon in menu.
11> After that I copied the 26 theme pack from ninadjust.com and open themes file with .lin extension in LinLoader. You won't get any prompt for completeion of installtion.
12> Restart your phone and you will see new theme on your phone.

This is how it worked on my phone. Please let me know your experience.

    Cheers,
    mrloko

    Hey mrloko,

I tried the steps that you have mentioned above but it ain't working man !!!

I don't get any beeps after I run LinLoader with MPKG. So I'm stuck at step 8 in your list of instructions.

Was there anything else you did before trying to install MPKG & LinLoader. I mean a seem edit or something ?

    Hi,
Only thing I have done is removed all my java applications and moved them to phone memory and deleted .system folder from TF. After this, I started fresh install of MKPG by copying the new .system folder from yan's MKPG installer.

    mrloko,

How much time does it take before you hear the beep after running LinLoader.pkg ?

And secondly. Could you please post the versions that you used for MPKG, Linloader and the modified mpkg.lin files here ?

or send them to me at rawash009-blast@yahoo.com

You're amazing Mr loko it works so good , I have installed one of the 126 themes which are in the website you said and it works perfectly, thanks a lot guy.

Just a thing you should change, it's not the topic Volume Up but the topic Volume increase. There's a topic Volume up but there's no file on it

    Thanks again pal

EDIT : Just a problem all work well, but I can't find my games anymore, I know that we can't see us when we install mpkg (I have a backup of my games on my computer) but when I put them again on my ming I can't see them anymore. What should I do to have them back ? Thank you

thebonecollector, do exactly what it's written, take the good file, and be sure to push the files (pkg NOT mpkg, lin etc...), and you ll have for sure the beep sound. Be sure your speaker is on, not silent or vibrate .

    Hi Shigeru,

Good to know that it worked well for you. If you have jar files backup for your game, just install them again on your phone. If you have copied all the folder structure then u need to share the names of the folder and files that you have backed up. I can accordingly suggest you the changes to get ur games back on A1200.
Need a favor, could you please email me all games (in case if you have jar files for them) on this email id sharad_ojha@rediffmail.com?

    Cheers,
    mrloko

    Hi bonecollector,
I will mail you the file that I have used in couple of hours. The beep doesn't take long. By the way, what firware you are on?
    Cheers,
    mrloko

Default Additon and changes to my initial post

    Hi All,
My apologies to you all. As I said in initial post to use "Volume up topic" for modified mkpg.lin file, it should be "Volume increase" topic. Thanks to Shigeru for bringing that in notice.

Also, I am attaching the mkpg and loader installer I have used. Please replace mkpg.lin from the one in "Volume increase" topic. The attached file does not contain modified lin file for mkpg.

    Cheers,
    mrloko
