Default Having some problems. Please help.

    Hey everyone.
I recently bought a Ming and I have to say I love it.

Theres a few problems I am having with it though, first off time and date. Don't work, no way to change them, and they don't change from my service. That is really bothering me because I don't wear a watch, and am used to checking the time on the phone. Is there anyway to change it? I have Cingular by the way.

Also, USB connection doesnt work. When I connect it to my computer it saying it has manfuction I have tried it with two cords. Any reason why? Do I need a special driver or something?

One other small annoyance is that whenever I check my voicemail, I get empty text messeges. With no number or text. Weird. Not really that big of a problem, but is there a reason for this?

    Thanks again,
    Alex.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Okay first you can change the time for clicking on the time icon on the main menu. As for network time, you need to do a seem edit in order to do it. You also need to do a seem edit for the voicemail bug. Please refer to the stickies on top of the forum for advice and guides. Good luck!
As for the usb problem.. What settings do you have your a1200 on? check the usb settings on the settings of the main menu

    Default Hmmm.

Thanks, the community seems really nice.

I'll check out the whole seem thing later. Hope it isn't too complicated.
As for changing the time through the main menu, when I try to change it in the main menu, the same thing happens. It takes me to a device status page, where it says the time, but it isn't allowing me to change it. I don't see any other time buttons in the main menu. Am I missing something?

you can't change the time in the status bar. by status bar, i am referring to the bark with your signal, time, battery, etc. You have to click on the upper left icon and there is a utility called "time". you change the time in that utility.

    Default Weird.

Still don't see anything like that. I've spent hours looking at everything on the phone. Nothing to do with the time or date. Could you show like a picture of what to click. Sorry, I must sound like a complete idiot.

    Edit:
I found it. You had to do it in the worldtime thing. Last time I check it showed it wrong. Wow. Thanks alot. Biggest problem with the phone... Solved.

I have to agree, setting time on your phone should be easiest, but not so with Ming. Even I had to struggle myself to figure this out.
