i have the same problem...any help?
I use Bragon's SMBD & INETD with Icon tap to run on and off daemon. Inetd is running well so I can telnet to A1200. But if I run SMBD, I have a problem. I see with ps -ax (in telnet mode), smbd is running, but my Windows Explorer can't browse it. I already try \\172.16.16.6\ , \\172.16.16.6\home\ , \\172.16.16.6\system\ , but it's all failed.
Can somebody help me ?![]()

are you sure your address is 172.16.16.6? In DOS, type IPCONFIG and check if you are on 172.16.16.x. It you are on a different domain, then it is why you cannot connect.
If he was able to Telnet in, he has the correct IP address.
I have the same problem, Telnet but no Samba. What firmware are you using? I have H2_06P.
Puppy
Mine H2_03P. But now I can running Samba. I don't know why. I don't change anything. But maybe u can try this :
- Do not start inetd and samba
- Connect A1200 to Windows, check in Device Hardware that Windows detect it as Motorola USB Modem
- Run Samba , at Device Hardware, Motorola USB Modem must change to Motorola USB Lan.
- Try to open \\172.16.16.6\system at Windows Explorer. And I can list my mmc successfull![]()
I don't know why, but since I tried this process, I don't get a problem if I run inetd or samba first.
Hope you can get luck too![]()
