That adapter from Radioshack won't work, I got that one too and experience the same thing your experiencing. You need to get this adapter.
Has anyone figured out how to use standard ear buds with a 1/8" stereo connector with the Ming? I bought an adapter at Radio Shack that is the right size plug/jack, but only get one channel of audio when using Realplayer.
Thanks

I love my Ming, he is still the one for me

There as some adapters on the market that export microphone/ answer/hang-up button capability as well. I purchased this one from Verizon, but only the stero audio and mic works, and not the answer button with the A1200:
Verizon stereo adapter with mic/answer button
Apparently the answer button is compatible with the LG Chocolate. I like the design because the plug fits right into the answer button, but since the answer button doesn't work with the A1200, I'll probably return it.
Here are some other ones, including the Seido version that supposedly works with the Motorola Q:

Another adapter with mic/answer for Nokia phones
Yet another with mic/answer for pocket pc
Has anyone else used any othe these (or others) that work correctly (i.e. sterio, mic, and answer button all functioning) with the A1200?
